National food packer, distributor and exporter with multiple facilities has an opportunity for a strong Plant Manager at their Duncanville, Texas facility. The ideal candidate should have a background in food processing and/or dry goods manufacturing. In addition, you should have experience managing multiple departments with experience in QA, HACCP, Multiple Line Production, Shipping/Receiving, Finished Goods Warehousing, Inventory systems and Bulk Material handling. You should also have experience in budget responsibility, efficiencies accountability, task completion and have had multiple direct supervisory reporting. In other words, a candidate with a strong superintendent resume. This position has a fast track opportunity for the right individual in an established 35 year old company with multiple national accounts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
~Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage a stand alone facility
~Staff, develop and control the Production team, evaluate performance and initiate corrective action as required
~Conduct and control all employee concerns for a growing medium size facility
~Closely review production operations to ensure optimum efficiency is being achieved with the objective of reducing overall operation costs
~Manage raw materials in-process and finished goods inventory. Ensure manufacturing goals are consistent with inventory levels/turnover goals and coordinate month-end inventories
~Regularly review company GMP's and procedures to ensure all plant employees are following guidelines and are regularly being trained
~Insure that operations conform to federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations
~Insure that plant operations operations are consistent with OSHA, USDA, FDA, other agencies and customer's, policies, practices and procedures
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
~Minimum education - Bachelor's degree in related discipline but 5 years Plant Management experience will be considered
~USDA and FDA background is a plus
~Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
~Demonstrated ability to successfully interact at all organizational levels and employees
~Effective communications skills
~Demonstrated ability in the use of computers and business related software and the ability to use financial information; to organize, prioritize work and to be mobile in the work environment and be capable of handling a fluid schedule
