HDR, Inc. Job posting for Project Manager, Solid Waste in McKinney, TX

The North Texas offices of HDR are currently seeking a Solid Waste Program Builder for their solid waste/landfill planning and design market. This position will report to the North Texas Department Manager and be responsible for leading the growth and development of the Solid Waste Program in North Texas as well as providing leadership on pursuits throughout Texas. This candidate will work in partnership with the Waste Sector National Leadership to fulfill the job responsibilities described below to manage and grow the Solid Waste program in Texas.
Primary responsibilities include advancing business development strategies, pursuit of new clients and new projects, client management, project management, technical direction of projects, and staff management. Collaborate with other business group and marketing staff in the pursuit of new projects, taking a leadership role in selected key pursuits. Serve as client manager for key clients providing leadership in addressing client issues and coordination of multiple projects in differing market sectors. Oversee selection, development, day-to-day management, and overall direction of Solid Waste staff.
Working with the Texas Area Manager, prepare annual revenue forecasts and budgets, develop marketing plans, and monitor performance of business group performance. Lead business group strategic plan development and implementation. Coordinate activities with company, regional and local managers.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Take a leadership role in the development of strong client relationships and selectively serve as client manager and project manager for the Solid Waste Program.
Work with Marketing Manager and Area Business Group Manager to create business development strategies, strategic plans, and project capture plans.
Work with Waste Sector Leadership and be responsible for achieving defined group operational and marketing goals for sales, cost, profit, project schedules, and quality.
Provide leadership of technical capabilities within the program. Provide technical oversight of projects performed by Project Managers and call upon other technical experts and management when needed.
Provide day-to-day management and supervision of staff.
Serve as Project Manager responsible for leading a project team to meet client expectations and deliver projects within budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
Participate in business and community activities as a representative of HDR.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
Knowledge of Texas environmental regulations and procedures
10+ years general civil design experience with emphasis on emphasis on integrated waste planning.
Prefer Planning experience with Solid Waste clients/projects
Current Texas PE or ability to obtain license within 6 months.
Familiarity with the Texas solid waste marketplace is a must.
Classes or training in environmental law a plus
Proven written, oral, and team communication skills.
Team player attitude.
