Job Qualifications:
Qualifications: High School diploma with at least one year experience or training in caring for individuals with
functional disabilities; or have completed two years of full-time study at an accredited college or university
in a health-related field or meet qualifications per TAC 97.244 (a)(1)(A) or (B)
Skills: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all segments of the staff, the lay, and
professional public. Shall be able to read, write, and comprehend English. Maintain 12 hours of
continuing education per year in matters relating to management of the Agency. Comply with Training in
Administration of Agencies; TAC 97.259 and/or TAC 97.260.
Environmental and Working Conditions: Works in an office environment, promoting efficient functioning and
coordination of all Agency activities to insure the highest level of client services. Ability to work a flexible schedule;

Front Office Receptionist:
1. Welcome patients as the contact the clinic personally or by telephone; explain the services available; and explain payment categories and billing procedures.
2. Schedule appointment; direct walk-in patients and emergencies per established policies and procedures.
3. Answer all incoming calls and route them to the appropriate staff.
4. Register all patients per registration protocols and collect all documentation.
5. Generate superbills for each patient and assure that all services and payment methods have been checked out properly.
6. Review and verify patient coverage of insurance and compute the charges to be paid at the time of service.
7. Collect copays and deductibles prior to the patient being seen by the physician; inform patients of any outstanding balances.
8. Work closely with the medical staff to assure smooth patient flow and cut down on waiting time.
9. Work closely with medical billing company to assure all required documentation is received in order for the physician to be paid for each claim.
10. Call and remind patients of his/her appointment.
11. Follow up on “no show” patients on a daily basis.
12. Communicate patient’s problem / complaint to the Office Manager or her designee.
13. Maintain all medical records; complete outstanding medical records request daily; file all paper charts throughout the day as needed; place faxed reports on patient charts and give to the physicians.
14. Other related duties as the job requires.
