I think too many women have the wrong impression of this concept of "friends with benefits" due to men who come over and screw and then leave. That's not mean. To me the concept should be about an affection and emotional experience as well as a very sexual one. Why would someone opt for such a thing over just having a relationship? Well... in my last relationship for example my gf would get angry if I didn't call her at least 4x a day and speak on the phone for a minimum of 15min. I'm sick of that. I'm not in a habit of talking about myself. That said --- I'm loyal, honest, and fun and not afraid of hard work. That can be mental, spiritual or physical. Maybe that comes from be raised on an Ohio farm. My friends would consider me non-rigid and I will try almost anything at least once.

At 6'8" and 305#, I stay in shape and don't look anywhere close to my age, 60 in January, which in a funny way irks some friends. The photograph I've provided is six months old.

I know it's a bit out dated these days but I know how to treat a woman, and I believe friendship proceeds everything. I'm good with kids and work pays the bills but doesn't define me. I enjoy out door activities in addition to the arts, theater, concerts, museums, movies, music, dancing and good times with friends.

I've been known to enjoy walking down town whistling and window shopping and strolling along a moon lit beach holding a special person's hand enjoying the stars and singing a 60's love tune.

When the occasion calls for it I don't mind jumping in and lending a hand to a friend. Manys the time I've helped in moving, hauled trash to the dump and picked up a child from school or the babysitter. When pressed into service I've fixed a leaking roof in the rain, and a certain dish washer only to end up buying its owner a completely new one.

I enjoy traveling --- long distances and short, planes, trains and RVs. Most friends are embarrassed by my "beater truck", but it works for me. I'm beyond the point I need to make a statement or impress.

Everyone has drama and I'm no exception --- however some people seem to have extra. I'd like to avoid that. Or, at least meet them after they have reduced their load to carry on. I have a no pre-determined relationship path other than one of truth, with someone who has a similar demeanor and philosophical view. I don't want to scare anyone away by saying that I want a particular type of woman.

For now distance is no issue. I don't mind a long distance relationship in the beginning --- ultimately however I'm looking for a real, honest to goodness, face to face, person to person communication. Maybe you can relate to this ... and maybe you can't .... but I can't tell you so I won't try to tell you how many times communications have started AND stopped using social Internet sites. It would appear cutting and pasting while having benefits, those same benefits when done in excess can feel emotionless and soulless when attempting to reach out make a true connection. I know the experience has made me smarter .... and unfortunately harder.

Some of my friends consider me complicated. Others, simple . Ultimately --- I suppose the only opinion that counts is mine and whom I may be seeing. It would take a long time to write enough to give a total stranger an idea of who I am. For now I think you have an idea.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and after three successful years in the green felt jungle I had to return to my business management career as the casinos would no longer allow me to play--too good. I go to Vegas and Reno once a quarter to play blackjack. The casinos again allow me to play because I am no longer a constant presence and I maintain a lower profile.

Thoroughbred horse racing is something that I also enjoy. Back during my graduate school days at Michigan I became interested in applying the Efficient Market Hypothesis to parimutuel wagering. The system really works, but requires patience as all races are not good ones to bet. At a track like Lone Star Park, one can expect to bet 3 � 4 races per card with an 18% advantage.

Photography has been a long standing interest of mine. My landscape work is done with a 4" x 5" view camera. A view camera is type of camera where one focuses on the ground glass with a dark cloth over your head. I develop the individual films, digitize them, enhance them with Photoshop and then print. Astrophotography is done through a telescope with a digital camera that is optimized for long duration exposures. My work has been published and is displayed on a personal website.

My sport of choice is golf. I try to play at least once to twice per week. Getting out on the links means everything to me as it is chance to escape from the realities of the day as I pit myself against the course. I am a bogie golfer, frequently playing in the high 80s to low 90s.

I am always a gentleman. I very much enjoy treating a woman like women are treated in a movie that one might find on TCM. It is great fun to watch a woman's eyes light up when I open a door for her, help with her coat, and help seat her at a table.
