Westwood College is searching for a Business Development Representative in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The qualified candidate should have the following:

The primary role of the Business Development Representative is to exceed personal sales objectives through prospecting market and student leads, cold calling, canvassing, and networking in order to increase student enrollments. The Business Development Representative is responsible for uncovering new business, networking and building strong relationships with the professional community as well as interacting with local campus admissions, career services, education, and support departments. In addition, this position must generate incremental leads for the Admissions Department that will lead to students enrolling into degree-granting programs and therefore must be an expert on all Alta programs, as well as a primary resource for community information gathering.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Development Representative is responsible for producing quantifiable results of applications and enrollments. To accomplish this, the sales representative must be able to work with a variety of contacts and build strong business-to-business relationships in order to achieve goals. Other essential responsibilities include:

• Maintains solid business relationships to provide a steady flow of student leads to the Campuses and Admission Representatives.

• Prospects and identifies community contacts throughout the market that provide funding for students to continue their education and establish opportunities for the College. This includes but is not limited to employer reimbursement programs, military departments, government agencies and local associations.

• Is accountable in key measurements for prospecting, presentations, contracts or agreements, student applications and enrollments.

• Exceeds weekly targets in key performance areas including new prospects, cold calling, phone calls, networking, in-person visits, presentations, leads developed, interviews set, and student applications and enrollments.

• Maintains a visible and accurate database of regular and consistent business development activities.

• Identifies outreach programs that will open up new pipelines of student recruitment for the College.

• Uncovers and regularly attends career events, trade shows and designated events.

• Sets up regular education fairs at the campuses. This will enable Admissions Representatives to meet with prospective students from companies and funding sources who are interested in an education from Alta.

• Develops a solid expertise on all programs, degrees, course offerings and initiatives.

• Develops a solid infrastructure of business contacts to serve as a delivery vehicle of initiatives and programs.

• Prepare weekly reports on activities, attend and lead weekly meetings.

• Performs all other duties as assigned.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work in sales-driven environment

• No less than three years outside sales experience including cold calling, territory management, relationship building and customer service accountability.

• Strong track record of sales success and accountability.

• Established business relationships in the local community.

• Passion for results, strong work ethic, and a winning attitude.

• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.

• Solid presentation skills.

• Must communicate professionally with clarity and brevity, both orally and in writing.

• Ability to perform basic math, e.g., percents, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

• Experienced and proficient with PC applications including Excel, Word and Customer Relationship Management databases such as Goldmine or Act.

• Education: Bachelor's degree
