So here's my story. I'm 28 years old with a wife and son, and I've recently been let go from my job. Although I'm relatively young, I have a tremendous amount of management experience, within retail sales and customer service. I was thrust into leadership positions at 18 years of age after a couple of months of service (I was 17 when I went in), and even though I'm not perfect, I've learned quickly. I have done technical work as well. When I was in the US Marine Corps I worked on helicopters for a Search and Rescue unit in North Carolina known as VMR-1 (Pedro), I've also worked on fixed wing aircraft. I've already applied for 40 positions, with no call backs as of today.
I have filed for unemployment, and food stamps to get the ball rolling, but I've run into delays. It's looking like it'll be a couple of weeks before anything comes, and I'm running low on food, and rent will be due soon. Now, I don't even know if I'll even get unemployment benefits. I was terminated under very suspicious reasons, and I'm hoping that it wasn't a major scheme to get rid of me while the workload slows for the holidays. I'm not asking for money, I want to work odd jobs to put gas in my car. I have a quarter tank and 9 dollars in my pocket. I don't like the idea of sending my 5 year old son on a bus to school, so my wife and I will be walking him to and from school. It's about a 30 to 45 minute walk, I hope it is anyway, Monday will be the first day I do this, and my wife and I are going to walk this out in an hour to time it. I will be saving what gas I have to go to whatever job you have for me, so please don't scam me, because then I'll be stranded. I have no tools, but the hands and legs God gave me.
