I am moving to Fort Worth in February and am looking for a comfortable, clean and safe place to live. I am in my early 40's. I am moving to Texas from Nashville, Tennessee. Currently I work in hospitality/catering and as Coat Stock Specialist at Macy's. I already have hospitality work lined up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and I will probably wind up working at Macy's there as well. I am a singer/songwriter and that is what brought me to Nashville four years ago. I am ready for a change and am very excited about my move to Texas. When I moved to Nashville from Portland, Oregon, I did so via an ad I posted on Craigslist. It worked out well for me back then so I thought I'd try it again with my move to Texas.

Here is what I would consider: Regarding rent, I can pay between $350 and $500. (I am currently paying $450 plus utilities.) I don't smoke and can not tolerate indoor smoking. Light drinking is fine by me, but after experiencing a few crazy Nashville households, my radar is up regarding room-mates that drink heavily. I prefer a household where people are passionate about their work and are friendly and respectful of house-mates, but also know how to mind their own business. I would be open to a short-term, week to week arrangement, or month to month, but I won't sign a lease spanning more than six months. My credit is not great, but my references are excellent. I have a car, a license and a college degree. I am open to a living situation where I trade household duties for rent, so long as it's platonic. I can send a deposit to hold the room. I expect to arrive in Texas sometime between the last week of January and the first week of February.

The house would need to be at least a 3 br -- I need one bedroom or living space as a practice/business studio. I tend to practice/work during daylight hours, but I'll also use evening at times depending on your wake/sleep schedule.
I teach all students at schools, not at my home, but I would like to occasionally have students to my home studio for instruction on equipment I can't reasonably transport.

I have two cats -- one 7-year-old female (Tessa) and one 7-month-old male (Baxter), both spayed/neutered and well-trained. They shed a bit, but I keep things clean and dehaired as much as I can. They have a claw pad and I strongly discourage clawing on other surfaces.

Again, if you're a property management place that will do a harsh credit check, we will not be able to do that. Love to meet and get to know new people and love to try new things as long as it is safe, legal and i get to keep my feet on the ground then i am all for it. I understand completely how hard it is to trust and open your home to others but if i am going to pay bills their also i am going to treat your place just like it is my own. I am hardworking, trustworthy woman. I understand that there is a time and a place for everything. I am a social drinker so on occasion i will come home and have a beer or a glass of wine depending on the type of day that i have. Things about place:
If your home or apartment has a roomate layout that would be great if not that is fine also. Would like my own bathroom/bedroom. Possibly furnished but does not need to be. Not looking to move my things from another state at this point. Not be in a dangerous or rundown area. Would like to be able to come and go as i please. I am sure that i am going to make friends so i would like to be able to invite them over as long as it doesn't make you uncomfortable in any way. Would like to live in a place that i can call home and not be restricted to just one part of the house. Please understand that i will never, never, eva eva eva go into your bedroom at any time. Just think that is the best way to handle things. I just would like for us both to be comfortable with each other because this is where you live and hopefully i will live also.
