MAALT Transport is seeking an entry-level semi-trailer mechanic to work in the Ft. Worth, Texas, yard, to diagnose and repair all systems on a semi-trailer to meet minimum DOT standards. Will train to develop and enhance skills for successful execution of normal duties including: Repair brakes, suspension, lighting, electrical and the structural components of the units. Knowledge and use of hand tools from simple wrenches required; pneumatic experience a plus. Must have own set of tools. Valid driver license with acceptable driving record required. Class A CDL preferred; if not currently licensed, must be able to obtain license. Mechanics are required to safely drive semi-combination units into and out of shop areas and have the ability to road test repairs when required.
Other minimum requirements:
21 years of age, able to pass a DOT physical, and DOT drug screen. Physically must be able to sit, lie down, climb, creep, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and lift as necessary to perform duties associated with inspecting and repairing bulk tank truck trailers.
