About ISAP
Operated for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), ISAP is an alternative to detention for illegal aliens moving through our nation’s immigration court system. The goal of ISAP is to improve aliens’ compliance with conditions of release by making sure they appear at court hearings, providing community supervision, ensuring they comply with final court orders, and much more.
What to Expect
Although ISAP is a very structured program, each day on the job presents a new set of opportunities and challenges. Case Specialists interface with a range of stakeholders including program participants and their families, community resources, our local customer contact, and BI staff. Daily interaction with program participants can vary greatly by their personal circumstance and progression through the immigration court system.
The ISAP Case Specialist position is not a typical desk job. Checking in with clients at their residence or workplace to ensure they are following supervision requirements gets you out of the office and into the community. At the same time, conducting participant orientation and assessment, managing detailed case records, collecting participant travel documents, and complying with program requirements will make up a large part of your daily activities.
Some participants will be supervised using electronic monitoring ankle bracelets or other technology. You will be trained on these technologies and be responsible for tracking participants’ compliance to related curfews and interpreting monitoring data.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with program stakeholders (employees, community contacts, government officials and program participants).
• Ability to clearly articulate program rules, instructions and court orders.
• Ability to compose succinct, accurate written reports.
• Demonstrated sound judgment and even temperament. Ability to maintain self-control in stressful situations, such as interpersonal confrontations or emergencies, or defuse hostile or unstable situations.
• Demonstrated tact when interacting with the public.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
• Ability to display cultural sensitivity and understanding.
• Basic knowledge of immigration laws, regulations and procedures.
• Bilingual English and Spanish candidates preferred.
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and the Internet.
• Ability to interpret electronic monitoring messages and daily summary reports.
Background & Education Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or related field.
• At least two years relevant experience in a field related to law, social work, detention, corrections or similar field.
• Experience interacting with multicultural individuals.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
ISAP offices offer a typical office environment, however some local travel is required for participant home and workplace visits. Candidates will also travel for a week of employee training.
Physical demands of the job include:
• Use of standard office equipment such as copier, computer, keyboard, telephone and fax machine.
• Bending, stooping and use of hands and fingers to place electronic monitoring on the client.
• Valid State Driver’s License and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Duties
• Provide operational contract linguist support to U.S. Army operations in Afghanistan
• Provide general linguistic support for military operations and interpret during interviews, meetings, and conferences
• Interpret and translate written and spoken communications
• Transcribe and analyze communications
• Perform document exploitation
• Scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents for key information
• Translate foreign language documents
• Identify and extract information components meeting military information requirements
• Provide input to reports
Vacation/Leave
• 2 weeks paid vacation after 6 months of service with travel expenses.
We are looking for someone full-time to help in bidding government contracts. The ideal candidate would have at least 1-2 years of experience in dealing with government bids and know the "ins and outs" of what it takes be awarded jobs. The ideal candidate should also be well-organized and be good at paying close attention to detail. Knowledge of industrial piping is not necessary, but is a plus.
