HR responsibilities: <br>
  Establish an effective relationship with all assigned client groups <br>
  Engage as a strategic consultant, providing a wide range of solutions, with the expected result of successful partnership in which the HR recruiter is an active participant in the business endeavors. <br>
  Demonstrate the ability to influence and persuade client groups both verbally and in writing. This will include communication as the result of relationship building, articulating presentations to a variety of audiences, and authoring or influencing documentation pertaining to employee relations issues. <br>
  Develop a thorough understanding of HR tools such as PeopleSoft, and the selected ATS. Master the ability to navigate the systems, answer client questions and use the system to help solve problems. <br>
<br>
Recruiter responsibilities <br>
  Contribute to workforce and succession planning for assigned client groups to develop strategic hiring plans. <br>
  Partner with hiring managers to define requirements for open positions. <br>
  Develop a diverse talent pipeline; develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies to include professional networking, direct sourcing, employee referrals, advertising, and search firms. <br>
  Facilitate internal mobility by tracking the internal talent pool and serving as a career advocate for employees through coaching and connecting them with internal opportunities. <br>
  Develop and close competitive offers and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience. <br>
<br>
The ideal candidate will have: <br>
  A minimum of 5+ years directly related Human Resources generalist experience and 2+ years recruiting experience. <br>
  Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in building relationships with business leaders, managers, employees and HR colleagues. <br>
  Proven success identifying and attracting top talent using innovative but cost effective recruiting methods including direct sourcing. <br>
  Strong ability to communicate with and influence management on issues of organizational development and talent management. <br>
  Knowledge of EEOC regulations and applicable federal/state laws. <br>
  Exhibit strong persuasion, influencing and mediation skills. <br>
  Strong people, project, and program management skills. <br>

Job Overview:<br>
<br>
The Career Specialist (CS) follows the recommendations of the Career & Community Support Analysis (CCSA) and Supported Employment Service Plan 1, thus, identifying a good job match consistent with the consumers skills as reported in the analysis, neuropsychological evaluation and Individual Plan of Employment (IPE) provided by the vocational rehabilitation counselor; additional documents/evaluations may be included and considered during the Supported Employment Service Plan 1 meeting prior to the completion of Benchmark 1.  <br>
<br>
The Career Specialist (CS), in collaberation with Program Coordinator and/or Director, schedules consumer appointments post completion of Benchmark 1 to prepare consumer for re-entering the workplace, including sessions for the following:   resume building, applications, mock interviews, and community-based employer contacts to submit applications and personally meet with the hiring manager and/or company owner.  <br>
<br>
The Career Specialist (CS) performs job tasks under the supervison and guidance of the Program Coordinator, with employees having access to the Director and HR Director as deemed necessary.  Career Specialists are encouraged to work closely with the Program Coordinator/Director when problems arise, with the Program Coordinator/Director reporting unresolved problems to the DARS Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (VRC) for further mediation.  <br>
<br>
The Career Specialist (CS) is expected to perform job tasks associated with job development and placement using a flexible schedule and routine method of communication per Life Abilities, Inc. policy and procedure with the Program Coordinator, Director, consumer, and (VRC) as deemed necessary; this position requires a high level of independent decision making relative to effective and consistent communication, consumer needs, disabilities and proper accommodations, job retention, and long-term employment.<br>
<br>
The Career Specialist (CS) is expected to perform according to rigid timelines for all DARS/DRS/DBS benchmark paperwork, and to submit internal documentation no later than 5 p.m. every Friday afternoon to the Director, Program Coordinator, and Vocational Rehabiliation Counselor, unless otherwise approved by the Program Coordinator/Director. <br>
<br>
The Career Specialist (CS) is expected to use various job development strategies, including community-based employer contacts, internet job searches, networking, job fairs, etc.  Documentation of job development activities will be due to the Director and Area Coordinator no later than every Friday evening at 5 p.m.<br>
<br>
Primary Job Responsibilities:<br>
<br>
	Tier 1 Consumers:  Identify and place consumer in a good job match consistent with CCSA and SESP 1 that promotes stability and long-term employment within four (4) weeks;<br>
	Tier 2 Consumers:  Identify and place consumer in a good job match consistent with CCSA and SESP 1 that promotes stability and long-term employment within six (6) weeks;<br>
	Review all consumer CCSA, reports, and documents relative to consumer services;<br>
	Provide job-skills training, including mock interviews, resume building, networking, job search skills, applications, and interview demeanor such as appropriate attire;<br>
	Develop rapport with employer and educate employer about Life Abilities, Inc., supported employment, job placement, and disabilities in general;<br>
	Provide transportation to and from interviews;<br>
	Assist with coordinating public and/or personal transportation to and from work;<br>
	Attend the initial day of orientation to the extent approved by the employer;<br>
	Assist with filling out new-hire paper work, and inform consumer of important information such as schedule, benefits, etc.;  <br>
	Provide on-site job skills training, and identify natural occurring supports within the workplace; <br>
	Contact consumer & employer at a minimum of 1-2 times per week through Benchmark 4 via on-site visits and phone contact; <br>
	Verify through substantive documentation and observation that BM 5/Job Stability has occurred, with minimal supports provided through completion of BM 6/successful case closure;<br>
	Provide extended post-closure services as deemed appropriate by the Program Coordinator/Director and for as long as necessary to identify solution(s); <br>
	Communicate with employer to identify problem areas that may require additional intervention, including subsequent meetings with VRC to implement effective strategies to retain employment; <br>
	Complete Life Abilities, Inc. documentation per policies and procedures; and<br>
	Identify appropriate resource referrals consistent with consumer needs.  <br>
<br>
Additional Responsibilities:<br>
<br>
	Collaborate with and work under the supervison of the Program Coordinator/Director;<br>
	Contact HR Director with any salary, incentive, travel, sick time, annual leave, and retirement concerns;<br>
	Monitor training calendar and coordinate service schedule such that attending trainings will not compromise consumer services;<br>
	Work as a TEAM member of Life Abilities, Inc. to accomplish mission, goals & objectives of consumers served; and<br>
	Join the Texas Rehab Action Network (TRAN) (e.g fees paid by Life Abilities, Inc).<br>
<br>
Qualifications:<br>
<br>
	Bachelors in Rehabilitation, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Business, or a related Human Services field; and<br>
<br>
	One year of documented professional or personal experience providing services to individuals with disabilities.<br>
<br>
Or<br>
<br>
	A high school diploma and three (3) years of documented services provided professional or personal services to individuals with disabilities.<br>
<br>
<br>
