WHAT IS IT:
I am selling my 18" Paiste Prototype China Cymbal along with its separately purchased Guitar Center 2 year warranty. The Prototype line is a somewhat new line of Paiste cymbals that the company is testing in certain areas, and Dallas was one of their choices! It's a pretty sweet line, in my opinion. I bought its counterpart 14" prototype hi-hats and absolutely love them.

I am a skeptic just like most of you who will check out my cymbal. If you are wondering why I am selling it, I am saving up to buy a new guitar amp and cab setup. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this cymbal, and I am sad I have to give it up. In fact it is in practically new condition. It has been very well cared for and polished on a regular basis. No cracks, dings, or defects of any sort.

WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE:
This cymbal is traditionally finished, with a medium dark tone, and a biting attack. It is medium in thickness, thus it holds its sustain longer than thinner china's. It is great for riding. It has a smooth wash and its decay is longer than a 16" china would be or a thin 18". This is no wimpy china; it is tastefully loud and screams with pain at every strike. It is similar to Paiste's Signature line of cymbals, except it sounds slightly darker. It has a biting and simmering tone and I find it to be quite a beautifully mean cymbal. It holds its own in live situations showing off its powerful volume and roars with unyielding presence. It really is a beautiful cymbal, writing this makes me want to play it right now, haha. COMPARISONS(I tried out several other china cymbals along with this one, so if you are considering other china's here's what I have to say, and why I think my china is better than anything you are looking at.):
I tried the 18" ZILDJIAN ORIENTAL CHINA 'TRASH' CYMBAL ($235 retail), and due to is brilliant finish (as opposed to traditional for those of you who aren't familiar with related terms) and the way it is hammered, it was kind of gongy and distasteful. Its wash was not nearly as smooth a traditionally finished china would have, like the 18" Paiste Prototype. The sound of this one wasn't my fav.

I tried a 12 or 14" WUHAN I don't even remember because it sucked.

I also tried the 19" ZILDJIAN K-CUSTOM HYBRID CHINA. What settled it for me about the paiste was that this zildjian K-hybrid had a gongier sound, and the wash was a little too oriental for me. Also, I have friends who own this Zildjian china, and it cracks EASILY, because it's big and thin. And lastly, this cymbal will BREAK YOUR BANK. It is very expensive. With tax it can cost upwards of $360, and if you buy it from guitar center with their 2 year warranty WHICH YOU WILL NEED, it will be around $400... for a china....

All in all, I found that my 18" PAISTE PROTOTYPE CHINA honestly has the BEST wash, attack, durability, finish, tone, bite, and overall sound quality. And it is in the mid $200 range. That's pretty good!

The OD and Dist go very good together, they have plently of EQ options on each one so you can get a mutlitude of sounds and tones.The Compression is probabaly one of may fav pedals ive ever bought, if your distorted it helps regulate the highs and the lows so while your riding the low E you can still wail on the high e and get clear notes. But I usually played clean with it and it was amazing, i usea fender strat and fender reverb for an amp and this compression made them sound even better.

My prices are not 100% final, but im not desperate. And im open to trade ideas, doesnt have to be guitar equpment. get creative. Bulk Discount!

Peavey Raptor Plus EXP fat strat type guitar in vintage sunburst finish. $89 Body is in excellent condition, but the pick guard does have the usual scratches, which is it's purpose. All the way around, it sure is pretty.

It's much like a stratocaster, except an inch shorter overall. Plus being the Plus EXP model, this Raptor's body is more offset. The additional offset makes this axe more comfortable to play when sitting, as you don't have to cross your legs to be comfortable, as is the case for many with the true strat shape.

Pickup configuration is the Humbucker - single - single fat strat setup.

I put a fresh set of new light guage strings on recently, and it sounds great.

I am reluctant to sell this vintage tube amp, but I don't really play it that much and someone with a studio would probably greatly benefit from having this sound to add to their collection.
Its a GA-9 in very good condition for its age. Works perfectly. Sounds very clean and warm. The stock speaker is a Jensen 10" but a 12" would fit if someone would want to convert it over. These amps have a great and unique tone to them and have become harder and harder to find.

I'm selling this strat for my buddy who is currently without a computer. Apparently it's an early 90s one off made by and for someone who worked at Fender's custom shop. It's a beautiful guitar, with a really nice birdseye maple neck, and flameburst finish. It has a Seymour Duncan Humbucker in the bridge, and Fender Vintage Noiseless in the middle and neck positions. It also has chrome sperzel locking tuners, and it's currently setup with 11's. The neck feels a lot like my Eric Johnson maple neck strat, and this guitar sounds great! The pickups on these are awesome because you don't have to solder anything to change them out, just plug straight into the socket and you're done. Also, this guitar would not stay in tune with the original tuners, but the sperzels keep it in tune even with the Bigsby.

The Fender Tone-Master was a Custom Shop amp designed by Bruce Zinky, and was made for a short time in the 90s. This is amp is a point-to-point, hand-wired amp. These are hard to find. It has been used by many great guitarists including Jimmy Page, Richie Sambora, Joe Perry, John Mayer, Maroon 5, Jonny Lang, Sonic Youth...

It has 2 foot-switchable channels, each has a it's own Fat switch, eq and effects loop. This amp also has an impedance switch that switches between 100/60/30 watts, to get better tone at lower volumes. Everything is stock, including the English-made Celestion Vintage 30s in the matching 4x12 cab. I prefer the tone of this cab to any that Marshall makes today. The clean channel is very punchy, takes pedals well, and goes from Fender clean to a Marshall Plexi-like crunch when cranked, think AD/DC. I think fans of Dr Z amps would like this channel a lot. The drive channel is early EVH tone. It can do a good blues lead up to an 80s metal tone. This amp is loud and can cover any genre of music you want.

I really need the money, but would trade for a Soldano SLO (could work a deal on a Hot Rod 50+ or EVH 5150 III). I have had many offers for some awesome non-master volume amps, but prefer something with master volume that can do high gain at moderate volumes. Any offers considered, thanks

Fender Stratocaster made in Mexico 1992-1993. Serial no. MN2050552. Excellent condition, very lightly played. Comes with Fender gig bag.

This guitar is a beautiful Lake Placid Blue color with a Rosewood fretboard.

The guitar is in excellent condition with very minor marks. Two very small dings on the back...maybe caused from a belt buckle. A few tiny scuffs on back of neck maybe caused from a capo. These marks are very
insignificant.

1976 FENDER STRATOCASTER � ASH/ROSEWOOD(Very Good Cond.) (Arlington)

Thinning out my collection of Fender Strats, just don't play this one and I like my own custom creations to play most of the time, so this one is up for grabs. As you can tell by the pics., this is the real deal when you talk about the mid 70's Strats. It has an Ash body with an awesome condition & very hard to find Rosewood neck. However the original electronics and crappy original Trem. are long gone - upgraded over the years. Both the neck and body have never been modified or molested, no pic. of the
P.U. cavity but believe me it is as virgin as the day it left the Fender factory. Same holds true with the neck, no monkey business anywhere and in excellent shape for a 76 model, 1.625� at the nut and typical C shape for the 70's CBS necks, tuners are original items & like new. This is the first year for Fender moving the S.N. To the neck from the neckplate also. I looked long and hard for this baby back in the late 90's when you could get them easier(Ebay find)and for a decent price, I've held on to it since then but never played it that much. The body has a very nice patina-not too much really for a Poly coated body and just minor dings/dents & paint cracks in the usual places, just adds some character to it. I couldn't find any numbers on the body for year reference either in the neck or P.U. cavities but it's the real deal if you know these bodies. I have a mid 80's black HSC for it also, no documents or Case Candy for it but will throw in a Fender strap.
Extras that I'm throwing in if you want them are some 1979 original Fender Strat. grey bobbin P.U.'s. and the original black Fender pickguard(slightly warped) that came with the guitar when I bought it. P'U's are in good working condition & a matched set, these are selling for high dollar now on ebay.
I do have a lot of pics. so just let me know if you're serious about this guitar and I'll e-mail them to you.
Now, for what I did with it back in 1998 after I got it, I put on a repro. Fender Vintage Bridge/Trem. and added some early Texas Specials that came out of another guitar(Ebay), already seasoned when I got them. The pots are probably mid/late80's 250's just don't have the numbers on them and I'm not removing the PG to check them out, they came with the PU's as a set. The plastic(knobs, P.U. covers & Torti Pickguard are all late 90's items(Allparts or Fender) that I bought new when I redid the guitar as far as components.
Now for the price, I'm not taking less then $1,500 for it because I can part it out for that on ebay, so you make me an offer if you really want this jewel. Neck alone is worth over $900 for a restorer/collector. I'll give the full S.N. and send you a pic. of the peghead also once you make me a legit. offer or know you're serious ok. I'll put this on ebay in a few days as well if I don't get any true interest here on CL.
This guitar is a very nice one and a hard to find neck body combo now and already a collectors item and can be converted back to original condition with the right electronics for those purists or collectors. Here's BBE's technical explanation for what it does:

Loudspeakers have difficulty working with the electronic
signals supplied by an amplifier. These difficulties
cause such major phase and amplitude distortion that
the sound reproduced by speaker differs significantly
from the sound produced by the original source.
In the past, these problems proved unsolvable and were
thus delegated to a position of secondary importance in
audio system design. However, phase and amplitude
integrity is essential to accurate sound reproduction.
Research shows that the information which the listener
translates into the recognizable characteristics of a live
performance are intimately tied into complex time and
amplitude relationships between the fundamental and
harmonic components of a given musical note or
sound. These relationships define a sound's �sound�.
When these complex relationships pass through a speaker,
the proper order is lost. The higher frequencies are
delayed. A lower frequency may reach the listener's ear
first or perhaps simultaneously with that of a higher frequency.
In some cases, the fundamental components
may be so time-shifted that they reach the listener's ear
ahead of some or all of the harmonic components.
This change in the phase and amplitude relationship on
the harmonic and fundamental frequencies is technically
called �envelope distortion.� The listener perceives
this loss of sound integrity in the reproduced sound as
�muddy� and �smeared.� In the extreme, it can become
difficult to tell the difference between musical instruments,
for example, an oboe and a clarinet.
BBE Sound, Inc. conducted extensive studies of numerous
speaker systems over a ten year period. With this
knowledge, it became possible to identify the characteristics
of an ideal speaker and to distill the corrections
necessary to return the fundamental and harmonic frequency
structures to their correct order. While there are
differences among various speaker designs in the magnitude
of their correction, the overall pattern of correction
needed is remarkably consistent.
The BBE Process is so unique that 42 patents have been
awarded by the U.S. Patent Office.
