I play a Gibson SG, Fender Acoustic, and a Fender Strat. I play through a Peavey tube head and a Marshall 1960A Cab.

My drums are a Mapex M Series, and a Yamaha Stage Custom. I play Sabien Cymbals.

I don’t have a PA, but I do have mics, and a Crate bass cab that puts out 300 watts.

And so you give no worth to the countless hours it takes to learn 45+ songs, perform them well...buy all the gear necessary, set it up, make sure things sound good, and perform? This is the issue - those of you on the "clubs need to make money side" fail to see that BANDS need to make money, or you won't have them to USE to make money. I have owned my own business for years - I would NEVER ever depend on someone else to market my business and expect not to PAY THEM - and kids, marketing is paid for up front, not based on results!

Another thing - club owners could care LESS what you play, or even if you sound good IF YOU BRING PEOPLE WITH YOU. You can play Norwegian Polka instrumentals- they won't care if you can scrape up 30 or so friends to bring along when you come. That should tell you that sounding good and BEING good are far down on the list of requirements (as evidenced by many bands that are booked regularly around town).

Club owners, here's the Bottom line - if your venue sucks, no band can rescue it, as evidenced by the MANY local bars that are now out of business - bars that "paid a percentage of the door" or paid based on "how many you bring with you". I can't even begin to name all of the clubs that have failed, and they have NOT failed because bands don't do their part - they have failed due to poor planning by management and a lack of business skill. That business model (what I call "bands can save my crappy bar") has shown to be a failed one - so quit trying it. Either quit having bands, or pay a guarantee to good bands and quit mucking around with wannabe's.

If you are using bands to help promote your bar, pay them to do so just as you would for ANY advertising. I enjoy recording and don't get to do it enough so I'm hoping to find a band out there that needs a few songs recorded.

I've got a small home studio in North Richland Hills and I'm looking for an indie, punk, pop punk, or power pop band (or something along those lines) to record with.

I have an application in process for a part time radio announcer position. I need to make a 5 minute recording of myself using a top quality broadcasting microphone. I will pay $15 to someone who has one that can record me and can spare 30 minutes time at the most. I will put the recording on my thumb drive after the session. We are a Texas Country/Red Dirt/Southern Rock styled group with lots of originals. We are looking to record some stuff in the next month or two and hopefully we can have the new guitar player instead of a studio musician. We don't have any specific hooks or anything yet so it is a good opportunity to put your own fingerprint on the music.

We rehearse once a week in Bedford and play 3 - 5 times a month. Most gigs pay but if there is a "freebie", then we probably wouldn't meet for our weekly rehearsal in effort to compensate. Everyone in the band is in their 30's so we are open to ANY age range of musician - just have your head on straight and have a desire to play!

Below is a link to samples - but PLEASE NOTE* we really don't want as HEAVY-ROCK of a sound as we have in the recordings. We're really looking for more of a southern rock/country style lead. Maybe even be open to some slide guitar or something like that. Looking for southern texture and melodies.

I am primarily a rock/pop player but can offer instruction in numerous styles and various techniques. I have lots of performing and recording experience to draw on as well to help students in practical situations as well.



Here's the part that's always difficult talking yourself up:

Well to start I graduated from the Berklee School of Music in 1997 with my degree in Music Performance and a minor in Music Education. While there I had the opprotunity to study with many instructors and also to take some special private lessons with Steve Vai(world renowned solo artist who has also played with Frank Zappa, Whitesnake, and David Lee Roth) as well As Joe Diorio(Jazz Guitarist/Instructor with far to many credits to list) Before attending college, I studied for a year with Richie Kotzen(Well known solo artist who has also performed with Poison and Mr. Big) After returning from college I studied with Jimmy Bruno(former leader of Frank Sinatra's band and also played with Buddy Rich)

I recently wrote a series of lessons that will be featured in a national guitar magazine and I am in the process of recording video presentations of those lessons for their website

I have performed in a variety of bands from all original Progressive Rock to Funk, fusion, and Popular/Classic Rock Covers, I also have been involved in a Frank Zappa tribute/cover band while I was still in college. I have performed with many musicians including Charles Fambrough, who is most known for working with Wynton Marsalis, Art Blakey and Grover Washington Jr. As well as other well known East Coast Jazz musicians such as Roger Prieto, and Bootsie Barnes, known for playing with Jazz Organ player Joey Defrancesco, and Maynard Ferguson, most famous for the Rocky Theme and Tom"Bones" Malone former band leader on Saturday Night Live as well as The Blues Brothers(the last 2 were when I was still in High School and playing Jazz Festivals. I also have performed with Tom Kozic, former Eddie Rabbit guitar player, and performed several gigs from 1999-2000 with a band called Halestorm known for their hit I Get Off. I have many other performing and Recording Credits as well

NO self-respecting musician should ever have to put up with the mistreatment that this bar (and mainly their booking guy) provides.. I am glad that at least the sound in the audience was good, and may patronize Dreamworld again, as I have good experience with them as a fan.. But, will never play there again, and advise any musicians to be very careful if booking there again.. Make sure not to make the mistakes we made and get all the information.. And refuse to play there if they don't tell you everything.. Then, if you get all the information (mainly the not getting paid part) and still wish to play there, bring some earplugs and stand as close to your amp as possible during the show.. Currently have three males in the group:

One Lead and Backup vocals/Lead and rhythm guitar
One Backup Vocals/Keyboards/Acoustic Guitar
One Bass Guitar

Drums, percussion and misc strings/organ will be provided by midi tracks written specifically for each song and played on stage by laptop pc. All other instruments will be live and prefer you play acoustic guitar or piano but that is not a deal breaker.

Various genre's but mainly along the lines of motown, acoustic/folk, select country and soft rock from 60's - 90's. Possibly adding original material in our song list that fit the gig.

Prefer someone that is professional, experienced and age range in mid 30's and up but we are open to any age as long as you are mature and professional.

We are planning on playing 2 - 4 gigs per month but more interested in the quality and pay of the gig not the quantity.

The focus on this act is to be profitable but to have fun playing as well. Everyone in this act has a full time day job so we are not trying to do this for a living, at least not right now.

The Arlington/Ft. Worth based band, though relatively new, has already booked casinos, private corporate parties, weddings and festivals in Ft. Worth and Arlington. The leader is a well-known musician/ entertainer in the DFW area and is well-seated in the entertainment community. We all wear specific period outfits on stage, rehearse unpaid in Arlington on Tuesdays, are members of the AFM, are able to occasionally travel out-of-town and hope all the same from you. We have lots of fun but are also very serious about what we do!
