I'm new here in dallas, just moved from el paso where I had a band and I miss it so much I decided to post see if I can find a band.

I'm 24, I play guitar very well (been playing for 10 years) but consider myself a 2nd guitar, I can play anything although I am not hendrix-like skilled. I can also play drums and bass pretty well too, but guitar's my main instrument.
I've never bothered to learn a lot of songs, rather than that I try to focus on creating my own music, that's what I really love to do improv

We're in search of a guitarist to get together and jam on Friday nights, usually start around 8pm. I have a small rehearsal space in Irving at my home. We're not looking to tear up the club scene, but are not opposed to the occasional gig if we're any good. If you have some lead and vocal abilities, that's a definite +. We're in our 40's and like to drink a couple of cold ones and rock out for a few hours. We've come up with 5 songs to start with:

Tonight and Saturday we have a performance piece that is focused around an established, pro-level modern dance company based here in Fort Worth.
200 people attended this event both nights last year.
This year we wanted to create an event that blended professional dance with drumming.
You just have to show up on time, (7:30 pm) and do a walk through with the drum leader Geoff Young.

The event will have 4 parts:

1. Dancers will be performing original pieces to original pre-recorded material
2. The Dancers will perform to an interesting, local band's original compositions. This section includes a massive bubble sculpture that 6 of the dancers can actually get inside.
3. The audience will be told that the last piece requires their participation, and that the entire audience is expected to get up on the large stage. While playing their final song, the band will switch to all percussion,. and drummers (this is your part) will enter the stage playing hand percussion to an infectious dance beat.
As this happens, the dancers will begin pulling poeple out of their seats and senmding them on stage. As they enter the stage, the entire audience will be given hand percussion. the goal is to get people playing along, and or dancing.
4. While everyone continues to dance, jam, etc. the band will end the show by playing a couple more songs including David Bowie's "Let's Dance"

Be there at 7:30 pm. show starts at 8:00 pm.

We WILL have percussion for you, but please feel free to bring anything you might have.
Some people are bringing traps sets, but don't feel obligated.
The show is tonight in about 3 hours, so please do not email me expecting an answer this evening.

Currently have lined up, a female lead vocal, a lead guitar, rhythm/bass (utility player), a keyboard player... Looking for a full time drummer. Our music is very dynamic, so we are wanting a drummer who can easily catch a beat.

We have made a lot of connections and just need to get a drummer in so we can finalize all of our songs and start playing shows! We are all from different musical backgrounds but are able to tie it all in to one understanding of having a passion for music. As of right now, we are moving in a direction of ambient, melodic sounds from all different genres to create a rock band. Some of our songs have blues riffs & some have metal or even grunge.

Some of our influences: Tool, Chevelle, In Flames, Soulfly, Mushroomhead, Static X, Mudvayne, Corrosion of Conformity, Godsmack, Pearl Jam, Stabbing Westward, 10 Years, etc., etc�

We are very open to new styles, but do want to stay in the rock category.

Bass player needed for female fronted band. Style is similar to Evanescence and Within Temptation and will be 95% original music. A few covers of similar bands will be in the set list, but we'll be focusing primarily on original material.

Please have semi-pro to pro level gear, experience, skill/talent, and attitude. No beginners, please.

Able to attend rehearsals ~3 times/week in North Dallas.

No drug/alcohol issues.

We're looking to fill a permanent position with someone who is willing to focus their time and effort on this band, so we're not really looking for those who are already involved with (and wish to remain involved with) other bands or projects.

Please be over 30 with the means to support yourself and cover your share of band expenses. This will not be a money making situation during formative stages.

Please have, or be willing/able to tailor your image to something that compliments this style of music. No, we're not looking for "emo goth kiddies", but we're also not looking for elderly hillbillies wearing suspenders playing their cardboard box/broom handle bass either. =)

�I am producing a project that should interest local drummers. We need your help!! (This is not a religious/church thing in any way)
The show is TONIGHT Nov 13th and TOMORROW Nov. 14th in Fort Worth near the museums.
200 people attended this event last year BOTH NIGHTS.

This year we have a local band performing while an established, professional dance company based here in Fort Worth performs choreography to their original music.

We need your help joining us for a long drum jam towards the end of the evening.
We are going to give out instruments to the entire audience, but we need your help to be the core of the drum circle WITH the band.
The goal is to get the audience playing along.

Simply agree to show up at 7:30 pm Friday/Saturday.
The show starts at 8 pm.
If you can only make one night, that�s okay, but please don�t let us down.
You can bring a friend, the more the merrier. This is the kind of thing that can be made into a fun date.
We�ll get you in for free, we�ll get you video and pictures, you�ll see a cool art show, AND YOU WILL HAVE AN AWESOME TIME!!�
