ISHQ (Love) is a multicultural Christian worship ensemble based in DFW. Our repertoire includes global Christian songs, Spanish/English bilingual songs, and hymns and choruses in a refreshing world music style.

We are an association of about 15 Christian musicians and singers from various cultures. The exact instrumentation depends on the particular gig, but will draw from people playing these instruments: acoustic guitar, mandolin, violin, flute, recorder/tinwhistle, saxes, keyboard, bass guitar, marimba, and dozens of 'ethnic percussion instruments' from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas (we purposefully do not use drumset). Some band members are academic ethnomusicologists with years of field experience around the world.

Some band members have left town and we need people, especially lead singers. Most songs are bilingual: English + Hindi, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Aymara, Yoruba, etc. Instrumentalists of all types also needed. Non-Anglos get some preference.

We have key gigs lined up for Jan-March. They include conferences, church services, banquets and more.

Hello, my name is Perry Brooks Nichols and I am a classically trained guitarist performing on the professional concert level in the Central Dallas area.

I studied with Robert Guthrie (who was Segovia's student) at SMU for 4 years, and have a commanding technique and large repetoire of works I can play which are suitable for social gatherings, parties, weddings, gallery openings, memorials, funerals etc.

I have made numerous recordings for small film soundtrack projects, studio work etc. in jazz, rock and classical contexts. I am a signed artist with Rewind Publishing Group!

I can play intimate spaces as well as large spaces with amplification if necessary. For ambient effects I can also add various textures via effects pedals such as the Moog MURF, low pass filters, wahs and digital delays.

We do a variety of covers as well as a few originals and this past year we have played a few special events and parties. We�re all around 50 and have been playing together as a unit since March 2009 with a focus on playing good songs and having fun, rather than generating a cash flow. So we're not looking to be part of a regular rotation on the bar scene, just hoping to regain our momentum so we can get out and play live a few times a month in 2010 and beyond.

Thanks to everyone who has replied (kindly) to this ad.

However, I really haven't found a good match yet.

So, I'm still looking for a real good, seasoned, laid back, country lead player, with a great ear, that can make every show, which is about 6 to 8 times a month.

You must be able to play classic, outlaw, and new Texas country (plus some classic light rock) lead fills, and intros (as well as outs) in any key, on the fly.

Tele chicken picken, and Nashville numbers, are a plus, and it would be nice if you play acoustic/electric lead guitar, and/or slide too.

Some of these are full band (4, 5, and 6 piece) shows in the Fort Worth area, but I also book some duo, and trio gigs, that you may be able to play on.

This is a NOT a full time job, but it is a great way, for you to make some extra cash, playing music part time, while you're having a lot of fun, at some of the coolest venues in the area.

Yes, we'd all like to make a lot of money playing music, and occasionally, I'll book a corporate party, private party, or a wedding reception etc. that pays well.

However, most of these jobs are at small clubs and restaurants etc. that do NOT pay a lot, but they do ALL pay. ( For this reason, you'll probably need to live in, or around, the Fort Worth area )

There are also some comps at each venue, but if money is an issue for you, just pass on this one.

At this point, I have at least 6 full band shows booked for December, and several more, into March of next year.

You must be very dependable, and be able to make every show, so again, pass on this, if you have any conflicting activities, if you're a hired gun, if you're already playing with another band, or if you're (still) holding out for the big bucks.

Smokin and "responsible" drinkin, is fine, but there is NO dope in this deal.

As I stated in my previous ad I am looking for new bands to book. I work mainly for The Ridglea Theater in Fort Worth but I also book for three other bars that host live bands. I'm constantly looking for new bands. There is no such thing as too many contacts in this industry. The Ridglea is obviously a difficult venue to book for. Since we are the second largest in Fort Worth, second to Billy Bob's, we can't take chances on shows with no draw. We have two stages. Our main stage is downstairs and our main room holds 1200 people. We also have a lounge on the second floor. We use it as an acoustic lounge and for softer music and acoustic shows.

Our main stage has hosted some of the biggest names to play in Fort Worth. Not to name drop but we have hosted Willie Nelson, 30 Second to Mars, Mac 10, Tone Loc, Two Live Crew, Creed, Warrant, Ministry, Stryper, Ziggy, Damian, and Stephen Marley, and 3 6 Mafia just to scratch the surface. After 10 years we have began to branch out and are hosting events such as pro wrestling once a month.

The "acoustic lounge" is our second floor. I use it as my personal playground. The lounge has a capacity of close to 100 but is more comfortable with 50-80 people. On Thursday night I host an open mic night that draws some amazing talent seeking their 15 minutes of fame. While the main stage tends to be reserved for heavier shows I like the lounge for calmer shows with a variety of music. I want to put Jazz, Hip Hop, R & B, Folk, Progressive, Reggae, and even Electronic Music in the Lounge. I am open to just about any show idea that makes sense.

The official way to get booked at The Ridglea is to send an email to our owner. However, She gets several hundred emails a week and this is not very effective. That's where I come in. Every Wednesday night I host a New Band Night. It's on our main stage. It has been an amazing way to find new talent. It's a non paying gig that serves as an audition and a show. It's treated like any other night. We have a full staff and the bar is open. The cover is reduced to $5. Each band gets a 30 minute set to show us what they look like in front of a live audience. Your goal is to get at least 30 people to come show their support. We usually have a crowd of 75-200 so it's a good chance to get some exposure and put The Ridglea on your resume. I am looking to book 24 bands a month. I only want bands that think they can make the cut. Each date is non genre specific and is open to all types of music. Since I book for other venues I am interested in a big variety. I am currently trying to fill my January Calender.

I will be honest. I am NOT in this for the love of music. I'm a business minded booking agent. If your music sounds great but not one person will come watch you play then I can't really use you. I get several great bands a month from my New Band Night. Some bands make the cut and some don't. On a weekly basis our owner calls me and asks for bands to open national shows. I give her names of bands that did great on Wed nights. I don't like to take risks with bands that I have never seen play when they are about to open for a crowd of over 1000 people.

If you are available to play a Wednesday night in January I'd love to see what your act brings to the table. I am booking now for Jan 13th. If you are interested in auditioning to play on our major shows let me know. Keep in mind that I do book for other venues and if I like a band I have a habit of flooding their schedules with paying gigs. In 2010 I plan on making big things happen in the local music scene. I moved from San Antonio to Dallas in early September, and am finally ready to start looking into what the Metroplex has to offer me for music. I'm a 20 year old worship leader who is located in Bedford, Texas in between Dallas and Ft. Worth who is ready to start making music with a group of God-loving people! Music in a church setting is eventually what I would love to do full time, and I have had an awesome experience working with like-minded people. I play a variety of styles of worship, and also have quite a few originals under my belt as well, so am looking for people that can not only learn parts, but write parts as well.

It is simply to build on the effectiveness of a group of people that work together that TRULY love their Lord the way the Bible calls us to.) This one is big.

-Have some experience on stage. (I understand stage fright, Yet I've found, at least in my own life, early on stage fright emanated from a man-centered thinking, instead of a God-centered.)

-Be talented. (Again. This is not a judgmental statement. As I said previously, though, I would love to pursue this full-time one day!)

-Either have some knowledge of music, or be able to play by ear! (By no means do I ever use sheet music. But it is nice playing with people that know that B,F#,G#m,E is the same progression as G,D,Em,C up two full steps. Etc.)

-Be familiar with worship music! (This isn't a must, but does bring some ease!)

-Electric guitarists, please use a multi effects pedal! (This one is pretty important to me, but not a dealbreaker. I've just had so much using pads for transitions, or effects for intros, etc.)

-Be anywhere in the age range of 18-27. (Nothing against the older guys! I'm young. I like to feel that this stipulation is justified.)
