Hi. My name is Dominic Cure.
I am a personal performance fitness trainer and Jiujitsu and mma instructor. I teach group classes and the Fit Academy at LifeTimeFitness. I also teach at Mohler Jiujitsu Academy. I use high intensity training and a variety of different exercises(kettlbells, circuit training, cross fit, etc.) to create muscle confusion, avoiding plateaus and monotony. I combine thees training techniques with innovative dieting plans, stretching, breathing exercises and a positive approach to produce results. I would like to start you out with some full body training, such as kettlebells, clean and pres, running, jump roping, swimming etc to get your muscles working in harmony and to get your cardio and metabolism up.
My workouts are designed to strengthen the body as a whole especially the core muscles. This type of training gives you a strong, lean, injury proof body unlike the out of proportion, bulky, clumsy, injury prone body's that we're all too familiar with seeing associated with isolated wait training, wear the body is a big strong chain with a bunch of weak links(usually the back and core). Our training on the other hand makes a nice strong balanced chain made to withstand a beating. What I'm looking for from you is a positive mentality, a willingness to strive for greatness and serious commitment to get results, if you have this then together we will make it happen.
I normally charge a very reasonable 50$ hr, but right now I'm doing an awesome deal to help people keep there New Years resolutions, I'm charging my 1/2 hour rate of 30$ and letting the work out go over into an hour. I adapt the curriculum based on the student's age, prior music experience if any, learning style, and pace. DFW Tutors SAT Prep Course (Plano, TX)

We offer a specialized, hybrid program for teaching students to improve their scores on the SAT exam. We begin with a diagnostic test to evaluate baseline scores. After that, we begin our group classes. During our group sessions, instructors teach the fundamental concepts covered in each section of the SAT, including Math, Critical Reading, and Writing. Additionally, we go through test-taking strategies and techniques.

At the end of the group sessions, another diagnostic test is administered. This gives our instructors a better understanding of challenging topics for our students. Areas of difficulty are covered in 8 hours of one-on-one instruction for the remainder of the course. This personalized approach to SAT instruction is flexible to individual learning styles. As a result, our course is an alternative to other, more formulaic programs.

Our upcoming prep course begins with a diagnostic test on January 23rd. The group sessions then run from January 31 to February 23rd. The second diagnostic test will take place on February 28th, making this an excellent choice for students taking the March 13th SAT test.

Danny has recorded with Grammy-winning pianist for Wayne Shorter Danilo Perez and appeared on WGBH with him, performed numerous festivals with the Boston/NY-based bands, such as Kendrick Oliver New Life Jazz Orchestra, Obbini Tumbao, Gregorio Uribe Big Band, Eguie Castrillo Orchestra, and the Compaq Big Band, recorded on XM Radio in Washington D.C., performed at IAJE in New York City, and performed with legendary Miles Davis sideman, saxophonist Jimmy Heath, Grammy-winning Yellowjackets reedman and Buddy Rich composer Bob Mintzer, and original Dream Girl, Grammy-winning and Tony-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday. He has played literally every major music venue in the Boston area, both as a bandleader and sideman. For several years he was a featured musician and musical director of the most active big band in Boston, the Beantown Swing Orchestra.

After graduating in May of 2007, Danny spent two years in Boston working for various bands around the region, transcribing, arranging, and composing mostly for the jazz orchestra. In the last two years, he has completed over one hundred transcriptions for large and medium jazz ensembles and arranged over fifty pieces ranging from jazz to pop, rock to techno, and video game music to metal, as well as providing orchestrations of horns, strings, and everything in between for contemporary rock and pop bands. He has been a prolific composer of new works as well, writing new music for his own swing octet, many New England bands, and even a venture into film with original big band music for the 2008 film My Best Friend�s Girl (scenes cut from final edit). He has been commissioned to write and arrange for a variety of groups, from Boston-based Quintessential Brass Quintet to high school big bands in Seattle, Washington. In 2008 he was asked to compose an original fanfare for the United Nations in Boston.

A few of Danny's former teachers include: Lin Biviano, lead trumpeter (Buddy Rich, Count Basie, Maynard Ferguson); Greg Hopkins, solo artist, trumpeter and composer (Buddy Rich, Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra); Charlie Lewis, trumpeter (Empire Brass Quintet, Boston Pops, Duke Ellington); Tiger Okoshi, solo artist, trumpeter and composer (Gary Burton, Mike Stern, George Russell).

He is currently living in Denton, Texas where he continues writing for New England bands and teaches in the DFW area.

I'm looking for a permanent guitar instructor in the North Dallas area. As I'm a bit older, I don't really want to sit in a large classroom after school with a bunch of teenagers... I've been playing 4-6 months and my ultimate goal is just to become proficient on the guitar (mainly blues lead). I need someone who can evaluate my drills and help me determine areas of weakness and make suggestions for improvement.

I would prefer someone who has a small studio or can come to the house every so often. My music tastes are fairly varied and I currently practice on an accoustinc and electric. I'm pretty quick with the theory but at this point I know much more than I can actually DO. If you can help, please reply and we'll talk.

I'd really prefer a more stable, long term, patient instructor I can stick with for quite a while. I'm looking to start fairly quickly.

In that time determine if I have the skill sets, personality, methods of teaching, and musical experience and education that you believe will enable you or your child to develop the skills to play the drums. I truly enjoy training young children and adult students as well with little or nor musical background. Experienced students can direct me to focus training on their specific desires, such as learning to play various rhythms to different time signatures, or help them enhance their drum-fills ability, or ability to orchestrate solo�s.
If you or your child finds music and particularly a groovy rhythm fascinating, maybe it is time for you to see if you can develop a talent that can bring many hours of enjoyment to your life. The next step is finding a teacher that can demonstrate their talent and knowledge, and more importantly explain techniques and the fundamentals of music so the student can understand and apply them.
All instruments require the development of various forms of skill sets. Obviously the ability to play drums requires independent hand and leg coordination. You need a teacher that can explain and show you how to develop these skills. As a drummer, nothing is more important than being able to keep time and lay down a tight groove. Additionally, training the correct muscles while learning basic drum rudiments is what develops the students stick speed.
The student�s progress is rewarding to me. A student should expect the class time as well as their own individual practice time to be fun and rewarding to them. The trick is showing the student how to achieve that by making sure their occasional frustration is more than compensated for by the progress they realize they are making. My passion in music starts with Jazz. That would mean that I should be adept at using bushes as well as sticks. However, what and how I teach can be applied to all genres of music. So the style of music we concentrate on could be Country, Rock, Latin, Funk, Blues, Smooth and Traditional Jazz, etc. The student�s preference of training is always a priority. If you are a beginner looking for a long term training program or an experienced drummer looking for assistance related to specific rhythms, find out if I am your guy. Other than your time and travel expense you have nothing to loose buy taking the �test drive
Each one-hour class is $30 at my home located in the North end of Keller TX 76262. Two drums sets facing each other provide instructor and student training options.
When shopping for an instructor, make sure you:
� ask how long each lessons is
� ask how flexible the instructor is with scheduling and possibly canceling a class on relatively short notice
� keep in mind I offer a free test drive class.
