Craigslist is just like that game show....a girl posts and she gets 100 responses with penis pictures, old men, ugly men, freaks and a few normal people. Out of every 100 male posts, maybe one girl responds...mostly because there is over 300 posts a day on the guys side.

A very little bit about me:

As you can tell by the photo, I shave my head.... I've been doing it for twenty years and wouldn't have any idea what I'd look like with hair. I do keep a bit of scruff on my face all the time but don't go all out and grow a beard. You can also see that I'm a bigger guy. Yeah, I'm 5'9" and weigh about 250. That's down from 289 though. I carry it well.

I am divorced with one 2 1/2 year old son who lives with his mother. He is the absolute light of my life and his mother is very good to him. My family is in West Texas. It's because of my son that I live/stay here. There is NO DRAMA there. I am admittedly in my "shell" these days because of the divorce but it's just a self defense mechanism. I don't have an interest in getting back with my ex. It is soooooo obvious we will not be "we" again. But yeah, I used to be the outspoken life of the party. Now I am more quiet and observant.

I enjoy music, but very little of what's played on the radio. I like to read a good amount and am very into the horror genre. I think I still like to go out, but I've never been one for very crowded places. I still like a nice, smaller bar or pool hall, the occasional restaurant, museums, parks, etc. I'm not much into sports anymore and don't EVER ask me to fish or hunt. I think both are pointless and a little bit gross. I will go camping, hiking, site seeing, etc. I like horror and sci-fi type movies, but got suckered into watching some reality shows (ghost-hunters, destination truth, top chef, flipping out, project runway.....yes, I am very straight.) and got hooked. I like white wines but prefer whiskey and I'm not really a big fan of red meat but a very well cooked steak will win me over every once in a while. I started going to church for the first time in twenty years to see if the "what's missing" about me can be filled there. So far, I am very committed to going and studying, but I honestly have not felt a calling just yet. Who knows? Maybe it will be; maybe it wont.

The last year I have been pretty much a home body and I realized that this is who I am.

I drink occasionally, I smoke about half a pack of ciggies a day and will have a cigar on the rarest of occasions. I also have a good number of tattoos (mostly on my forearms) and hope/want to get more; maybe even get "sleeved".

Again, I am looking for someone relative to my age group who would consider herself somewhat attractive on the outside while being a beautiful person on the inside. Your race and religious beliefs don't concern me. If you are racist in any way, please, just don't contact me.

Well hello there on this 2nd day of the new year. I hope that you had a greta new years, and didnt get into too much trouble. I figured maybe this is the year that i can find someone to be with and spend time with. Someone who will appreciate me for me, and not try and change that. Well lets see what can i say. I'm an Introvert (but a functional one!). No, really.

I'll get to -those other- not-so aspects later. But first off, I feel like I have to explain why I resorted to posting a personal ad on the Internet, of all places. I think it will form a better picture of me. You see, I enjoy my own company. I like getting to my apartment after work, feeding my cat, studying the material that was discussed in class and watching the Daily Show until I pass out. Sometimes on weekends i'll go to my parents house to make sure they're still alive, but for the most part, I like my own company. I've always been like that. People always thought it was rather awkward. We're told that we have to be outgoing and sociable and frankly, that's just not me. It isn't that I can't do it. I can. Actually, get me drunk enough to not care how annoying most people can be and i'll just socialize and talk about whatever.

I had a bit of an epiphany recently. Maybe it was a combination of the acid a friend of mine tossed into my water (Denton tap water is disgusting. I never drank bottled water until I moved here.) and the freezing cold, but I saw a woman walking with her newborn-ish child and her (presumably) husband. They were happy. Like, really happy. It isn't that i'm unhappy--I mean, I seriously don't feel unhappy--it could just be that i've gotten so used to being alone that it feels like normal. But I can't help but remember the last time that I felt as happy as those people seemed.

I'd like something like that one day. But how can I get there alone? Maybe i'm asking too much. But maybe i'm not. Is it unreasonable for a 20 year old student to want someone to share an evening with every so often? So this is me: I'm a student--Double major in Biology and Sociology (What good is practicing medicine if you haven't got compassion for those you treat?). I am one of those far-left single-payer health care liberals that you were warned about. I read news. Lots of news. I've noticed that Craigslist has an obsession with race/ethnicity: I'm Mexican. I have little Mexican habits like an affinity for cooking and, as a result, eating spicy foods. I like cats. If you can't stand cats, you need to take a good long look at yourself in the mirror. I do have a bit of a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor. I work part time evenings on weekdays to pay for my apartment and my education. My job sucks. No, really. But i'll never tell you about it unless you ask about it. I DO ocassionally play computer games, but not obsessively so. I love being outside, surprisingly i've never been camping. I'm perfectly fine with recreational use of soft drugs, but I don't really use them often. I used to smoke until I started jogging and playing soccer and haven't looked back since. There is much more to me than what I could put on an ad, really there is! I'd like to leave something to the imagination and for when we'd presumably meet, though.

What about you? More importantly, what would I like? To be honest, I don't know. I don't think any of us really knows what we'd like in our significant other. Attraction just sort of happens, I suppose. But if I had to choose, I think i'd get along best with someone who is also a student. I don't care if you're religious-- and frankly, I might even prefer that. I love religion. I don't care about your race--I was raised with amazing amounts of genetic diversity in my family, both immediate and extended. Preferrably you'd also be a bit of a homebody, but not enough to where we can't go places--though I am introverted, I do like to go out sometimes.

This is more of a self-selection thing now. Am I your type of person? Let's hope.
