Great Plains Leasing LLC, as the exclusive demonstrator agency for Blue Buffalo Company, Ltd., is currently seeking enthusiastic pet lovers, who are concerned about the nutrition and well being of pets, to join us in our efforts. We are looking for qualified pet food educators in your area.
Position: This is a long-term, part-time position based in local PETSMART, PETCO or TRACTOR SUPPLY stores. Your responsibilities would include approaching and educating customers about good pet nutrition and BLUE with the goal of converting as many of them as possible to the BLUE BUFFALO products. This is not the typical demonstrator position you may have seen in a grocery or mass retailer store. You will not be pinned down at a demonstration table simply passing out coupons and waiting for the next person to come along. You will have the luxury of roaming the entire store. You will have the opportunity to talk with all sorts of people who are genuinely concerned about the health of their pets. These pet owners are very interested in and grateful for the information you give them as most know very little about what is in dog and cat food. If you do a good job explaining the benefits of BLUE and good pet nutrition, the customers practically sell themselves on the food. You will need reliable transportation that will allow you to transport a table and some supplies (all of which will be provided) to and from the store. The job also requires the ability to stand on your feet for up to 4 hours at a time, walk the store to seek out potential consumers, and lift up to 30 lbs to help merchandise the shelf. You will also need an active email account and consistent access to a personal computer, for the purpose of communication with your supervisor and the company.
Skills: You must be personable and enjoy approaching customers and engaging them in conversation regarding their pets. If you are the type of person that starts conversations in the supermarket check out line, or enjoys talking about your children or family, you have the right personality for this job. You will be trained on how to discuss the many benefits of the BLUE brand in an effective and positive manner. Utilizing this training, you will be able to convey these benefits to convince people to switch to BLUE from their current brand. A sales background is helpful but not necessary. This is not a high pressure sale. However, we do look for passionate pet lovers who are excited to talk about how to improve the life of pets through the superior nutrition of the BLUE brands.
Hours: The normal schedule is 8 hours per week, with Saturday and Sunday being the primary days, but it is possible that you could work up to 15 hours per week depending on the store availability in your area. Typical hours are 11-3 Saturday and 12-4 Sunday, although individual store traffic patterns and candidate availability are taken into account. You will be guaranteed consistent weekly work. We look for demonstrators to cover at least two stores in close proximity to their homes.
Pay: Initial hourly pay is $11 per hour. There will be opportunities for increases within the first 3-6 months based on attendance and performance.

Responsibilities:
Work from a retail store or in-mall kiosk to generate prospects and sales for cutting edge consumer wireless broadband products
Leverage your engaging personality, interest in technology and passion for innovative products to generate sales via walk-in customers
Participate in Outbound sales efforts including store marketing activities and other special promotions or activities to assist in lead generation and new sales
Educate customers regarding the benefits of products and services as well as answer questions regarding equipment, coverage area, pricing, and availability
Accurately and efficiently process customer transactions using our real-time activation computer system
Troubleshoot customer concerns related to equipment or service
Ensure store is operationally ready at all times and each customer has a positive experience
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Sales Professional in a fast paced quota driven environment as a Retail Sales Representative, Retail Account Executive, Customer Service Representative, Sales Associate, Customer Care Representative, Inside Sales Representative, Outside Sales Representative, Territory Sales Representative, Account Manager, Sales Consultant, Telemarketer, Management Trainee, Lead Sales Associate, Marketing Associate or related title
Track record of successfully meeting sales objectives in a commissioned sales role with preferred experience using grassroots guerilla marketing tactics
Experience using email, internet browser, and basic word processing software (Microsoft) required
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high transaction environment
Strong and engaging interpersonal communication skills
Entrepreneurial minded individual with strong work ethic and a passion for technology
Prior experience selling consumer electronics or other technical or wireless products preferred
Management Trainee Program experience preferred
- Enjoy working with a diverse clientele and have good customer service skills
- Sense of humor and an outgoing personality
- Must have outstanding communication skills (Spanish would be a plus, but not necessary)
- Basic computer and math skills
- Should have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to work a retail schedule, which includes weekends and one evening per week.
- Assist with merchandising the store, displaying merchandise, cleaning displayed product, tagging merchandise and performing other duties as required to maintain the store's appearance.
General Duties
- Handle customer complaints in a prompt & professional manner
- Run cash register at customer checkout
- Escort customers and carry or transport purchased items to customers vehicles.
- Greet Customers who come into the store
- Answer incoming calls
- Negotiate with customers as needed on larger items
