This is the primary position we hire for. We need people to carry a tub of product in the seats selling to the fans as they watch the event. Walking vendors sell products such as beer, soda, water, peanuts, cracker jacks, hot dogs, and many other items. This is a great opportunity to make money while being a part of an awesome environment. If you are hard working, self motivated and have a great personality than this is the perfect job for you.
How Do Vendors Make Money? – Every vendor has the same opportunity to make an excellent commission but some vendors do much better then others. What are the secrets of good vending? Successful vendors spend their time in the seating area where the fans are sitting. When you leave the vending location, take with you as much product as you can comfortably carry. Once you enter the seating area, make your way as quickly as possible to the bottom of a section isle. Once at the bottom of the isle, you want to quickly make your way up the isle advertising your product vocally by calling out and visually by holding the product up in the air. You want to scan the crowd making eye contact looking for potential sales. If at all possible try to make a sale near the bottom of the row so all the fans above you see you selling. This will significantly increase your chances of selling more in that section. You want to be polite to your customers and thank them for every transaction. You want to do your best to make sure you are not obstructing the view of the fans. You can achieve this by kneeling down when making a sale or quickly moving through the aisles.
Pay:
You will make a commission which is paid based on how much product you sell during the event. Commission rates for soccer games is 10% of net sales and for concerts is 8% of net sales. For all soccer games, you will receive your commission check after you are finished working. For all concerts, your commission check will be mailed to you 10 business days after the event. For all events, you will leave the stadium with your CASH TIPS. Keep in mind that sales tax is included in the products you sell. You do not receive commission on the sales tax portion of the sale price.
Uniform:
You are required to provide clean BLACK or TAN pants or shorts. NO Jeans, NO windpants. You will need to wear comfortable closed toe shoes such as tennis shoes or a work shoe in a black or white color. We will provide you with a uniform shirt and money apron to hold your change. Please make sure you are clean and odor free before work as you will be working very hard. Please make sure you are properly groomed and any offensive tattoos are covered.
Check-in location:
All EMS vendors will check-in on the east side of Pizza Hut Park. You will see two very large roll-up garage doors. This is where you will want to enter the stadium. If you get lost you can ask people where the beer vendors or foodservice workers enter and they will point you in the right direction. EMS works for Centerplate at Pizza Hut Park so if you are asked who you work for you can just say EMS or Centerplate to enter the stadium.
Worker Parking:
FREE worker parking is located on the South side of Pizza Hut Park on Main Street just across from the stadium. If this is full you can park on the Southeast corner lot at the stadium. Parking is limited so please arrive early. If working parking is full, you can park anywhere you can find a spot. EMS will not reimburse for any parking.
This position would be office based, but some outside travel would be necessary.
