Position Summary:
My company is an outsourced IT Support company based in Plano, TX that is changing its focus and no longer offering computer and network support services starting in January 2010. We are looking to find a company or individual IT professional to replace us and offer support to one of our clients in Kilgore, TX. We recently (June 2009) overhauled this client's network and computer system infrastructure by installing brand new Dell Optiplex desktop computers, Dell and Sonicwall network equipment and a single Dell PowerEdge Server to function as the domain controller. All equipment has been set up following best practices and is well documented. Client's usage of the network is pretty basic and mostly includes file sharing, shared printers, a few server hosted applications (including Quickbooks and ShepherdStaff Church Management Software) and a basic file based backup system that functions on the server. The desktop computers are all Windows XP Professional systems, and the server is Windows 2003 Standard Server.

We are looking for an individual or small IT firm that can offer remote support and possibly occasional onsite support for this client. Most support functions that we delivered were done remotely from the Dallas area, and very little onsite work was necessary after the initial installation. The client is seeking someone that can function as their outsourced IT support staff, in a part time, contract or on-demand based position. Compensation and contractual details to be determined by client and new support person(s).

Duties and Requirements:
- Person or persons must be professional, polite and willing to work with a variety of users to support all daily IT functions and desktop support requirements
- Previous experience working in a church environment is a plus, but not required
- Must be able to remotely troubleshoot systems and network issues in a timely manner and communicate resolutions effectively to client and document those resolutions
- May be needed on weekends occasionally, but most support issues would require normal business hour availability
- Would be required to monitor daily backup logs and possibly other network resource logs as required and respond accordingly to issues that arise


Experience / Skill Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including Sonicwall routers and Dell network equipment (switches)
- Experience managing and administering a Microsoft Windows network domain - security, user management and roles, shared resources, etc.
- Strong systems administration skills dealing with Microsoft Windows based networks (Servers and desktop computers) and Microsoft desktop applications including MS Office, Quickbooks, etc.
- MUST have remote access systems that can be utilized for remote support (Client is currently connected to our remote support network and will be removed in January)
- Outstanding communication skills
- Good Analytical and troubleshooting skills

All contractual engagements will be made between the person(s) chosen for the position and our client. We may initiate the communication and screen potential applicants for the client, but all decisions will be made by our client. We will work with the person(s) selected to transition any relevant information to that person(s) and assist in the support transfer but will not be responsible or in any way related to future support matters or any agreements made between the client and person(s) selected.
