The City of Cedar Hill is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Information Systems Analyst I. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of specialized duties in connection with the administration of the operation and maintenance of the City's computer information systems.

Core Responsibilities:

Managing the network security profiles for all users of the City's Wide-Area Network

Managing the City's network and Internet security

Monitoring and coordinating server and workstation maintenance and updates

Supporting the implementation and operation of computer network interfaces, wireless network equipment, and overall network topology

Supporting the design, development, and testing of the disaster recovery and business continuity plans

Serves as primary analyst for city-wide computer applications, participating in all phases of their purchase, implementation, training, and operation.

Performs routine work-flow analysis in the departments to determine best practices for implementation and change, with emphasis on the effective utilization of city information systems or other IT to improve organizational performance.

Supports and sometimes performs departmental application development. Works with city users to determine and evaluate departmental requests for system enhancements and modifications, and oversees and implements enhancements/modifications as appropriate.

Coordinates application enhancements to existing computer systems, including analysis and design specifications. Directs and supports development of program documentation and proper file management techniques.

Other duties will include participating in the procurement process, maintaining computer related asset records, and interfacing with other City employees and citizens

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, communications, or equivalent.

6 years increasingly responsible experience as a network administrator or analyst in Microsoft/Cisco environments

3 years increasingly responsible experience in standard business/government environments.

Certifications eligible for consideration include Microsoft Certification (MCP+I, MCP+SB, MCSE, MCSE+I, MCSA, MCSD, or MCDBA), Cisco Certified Network Associate, or equivalent.

Valid Texas Class C Drivers License with good driving record.

Must pass background and drug screening
