CONDITION: Good. No chips, and no cracks. But the gold embellishment shows some minor wear. Also, at about 4 o’clock there is a production caused blemish.
DESCRIPTION:
Rare Antique 1820s detailed raised relief plate with 16 times repeated flowers and leaves pattern, decorating the upper part of the plate. Under every flower is a long decoration in gold.
Winged Cupid with an arrow and bow sits on a dog with a fishtail ending with a flower at the plate’s center in white color. This center’s decoration is encircled with decorative beads.
In addition to the gilded rim décor, the plate’s gold and white colors are on yellow base.
This plate does not appear in any of the books on yellowware.
On the plate’s back is a label from an antique dealer with notation K 217, and C. 1820.
The plate is furnished with a spring-loaded hanger.
