We have a Chieftain II Eraser made by Palmer Fixture Company for $45. This device allows you to clean your chalkboard erasers after heavy use. Once plugged in, the cylinders spin and you slide the eraser across it. The chalk is then vacuumed into the container to keep it clean. The piece has been tested and it all still works well. If you're working with a chalkboard all the time, it might be worth investing into this cleaner. If you have a school or college, you can easily set this up where all the teachers can use this piece!
