We are a small ranch southeast of Dallas that breeds Dexter cattle to preserve the bloodlines and characteristic traits of the breed. We interact daily with our Dexters, some of whom like being hand fed and love a good scratch. Unlike polled Dexters, whose lineage traces back back to one polled bull, our Dexters' lineage can be traced back to Dexter herds that were imported to the U.S. from Ireland. All our Dexters are Registered with Legacy Dexter Cattle Registry. Our Dexters are raised on native pasture and supplemented with bermuda and alfalfa grass during the winter.
Our current herd bull is a Legacy Dexter named Colorado Chief, whose lineage can be traced back to one of the original Peerless herd brought into the U.S. in the early 1900's and owned by the Guggenheim Family.
For those unfamiliar with Dexters, they are an amazingly healthy, low maintenance and easy handling breed of cattle. A smaller breed known for their temperament, lean meat, high milk fat, strong immune systems, and easy birthing.
We currently have a several bulls for sale ranging from 9 months to 2 years for sale. All the bulls were sired by our herd bull, Colorado Chief (pictured). All our bulls are negative for Chondro and PHA. We will not sell our Dexters to just anyone. We want to be sure that our Dexters go to the right owner, who has the best interest of Dexter breed in mind and is interested in preserving the heritage of the breed.
