Park Cities Pet Sitter is one of the largest pet sitting companies in the country, with 40+ staff members. In this position, the candidate would be working out of the PCPSI office in the Lakewood area. Hours are approximately 9am-5pm Monday through Friday, with the need for on-call work at least one weekend monthly, and occasionally during the week.
In this position, the candidate will be responsible for:
•Assisting owner in the initial screening of new staff members--would include reviewing applications received,
setting up and conducting first-level phone interviews, coordinating and conducting in-person interviews,
performing background and reference checks.
•Hiring/training new pet sitters, reinforcing procedures/training for existing pet sitters (via weekly
voicemails/emails), planning quarterly to bi-annual training for existing staff on things like Pet First Aid, Dog
Behavior, Cat Behavior, technology training (if needed). The candidate must lead all such training sessions,
and be comfortable/confident speaking in front of others. Candidate will maintain the training materials and
make suggestions on improvement of the materials. The candidate will also lead annual re-testing of pet sitter
skills (re-certification process), lead the creation (with owner's assistance/input) of training video library for
use with new staff training and for reference for existing staff, and assist in scheduling annual reviews for
•Candidate must be a people-person who can easily and naturally provide great customer service to clients and
coach employees with a positive attitude at all times.
•Candidate must be reasonably confident/proficient in using iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, as staff
members use these devices in the field to access their schedule. Candidate will train staff members on how to
use the scheduling system on their smart devices.
•Candidate must also learn all aspects of the web-based scheduling system, and be able to perform scheduling
duties on an as-needed basis. This will primarily mean assisting the main scheduler during high-volume
holiday times, being the on-call scheduler at least one weekend per month, and occasionally being on-call
during the week.
•Candidate must be able to assist pet sitters in the field on an as-needed basis. This can mean shadowing a new
sitter on initial visits to make sure they are following all company policies/procedures, leading new client
meetings with new sitters, assisting a sitter who may be having difficulty accessing a home or handing a
particular pet, or taking over a set of visits if a sitter becomes ill or can no longer perform visits assigned to
•Attend all in-person PCPSI events like Seminars, Easter in the Park, 4th of July Parade in University Park,
Presents 4 Pets SUV Stuff, etc.
•Process all dog training inquiries and assign dog training clients to the appropriate trainer. Manage the
communication between training client, scheduler, and trainer. Make sure all training contracts are on file
prior to the first training session.
•Candidate must be proficient with social media posting, and be able to submit posts consistent with company
•Must have a love of technology and enjoy researching technological tools that can make business processes run
•Must be able to assist the company President in meeting company goals.
•Candidate must be proficient at time management, be able to keep track of all responsibilities related to both
short-term and long-term projects and communicate effectively if deadlines are in danger of being missed.

It is our desire that the candidate will have the following skills and experience:
•Have either dog training experience or other relevant pet behavior experience.
•Have staff training experience and feel comfortable speaking in front of others. Must also be comfortable
coaching sitters to follow company policies/procedures.
•Have Human Resources experience, and understands the importance of being very detailed when managing
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Having Photoshop or InDesign experience is
desired but not required.
•Comprehensive understanding of how to manage and use Google Drive and Forms.
•Previous experience in the pet sitting industry is desired but not required.
