This lovely pink Shwayder Brothers Royal Traveller Medalist hardshell suitcase features durable construction with a molded shell, metal trim, and a sturdy plastic handle. The unique rich pink marbled color is still bright and not faded. The inside of the suitcase is pink with a lighter pink design. The bottom half of the interior includes two straps and one plastic-lined zippered pocket on the right side to hold small items. The zipper works just fine. There is a rigid luggage divider in the upper half of this suitcase that creates two separate sections so items in the top half do not mix with items on the bottom half. The outside of the luggage divider has an elastic pouch that runs its width. The elastic is still tight. This very unique and rare piece of collector’s luggage would be a great addition for your home for decoration or storage.

Item - This is a vintage 1960s Shwayder hard shell suitcase. Other vintage Royal Traveller Medalist suitcases with the Samsonite label are new versions of this style of suitcase.

Manufacturer - Shwayder Brothers of Denver

History - The Shwayder Brothers of Denver were the original founders of Samsonite, which started as the Shwayder Trunk Manufacturing Company in 1910. The company was later renamed Samsonite Corporation in 1965. "Royal Traveller" suitcases were manufactured by Shwayder Brothers from the 1950s and 1960s, before the company officially changed its name to Samsonite.

Material - Hard shell plastic with metal trim.

Features - A strong plastic handle, two sturdy latches, four plastic feet, and two strong hinges. The latches have locks but the key has been lost.

Condition - Great vintage condition with very little wear on the exterior other than some small scratches and scuffs. There is one larger gouge on the exterior to the upper right of the handle. Interior lining in good shape with no stains. The lining on the top half of the suitcase has almost completely separated from shell except for a small part of the right side. The lining on the bottom half of the suitcase has also almost completely separated from shell except for a small part on the bottom. The pictures I have provided show these flaws.
