About Our Family:
We are a busy, growing family of three (soon to be four!), living in Coppell, TX. Our current family dynamic includes a 2.5-year-old who attends daycare full-time, and we are expecting a baby in late March. Rounding out our crew is our beloved (and high-maintenance) 11-year-old beagle, who needs consistent care, so if you love animals, that’s a plus.
Both parents work demanding full-time jobs, and the nature of our work means frequent travel, shifting schedules, and coordination that often feels like a game of Tetris. One of us works from home with regular client-facing travel, and the other is gone for 4-day stretches most weeks, with a rotating schedule of four-on-three-off. As a result, household logistics are challenging—especially during travel weeks, when tasks can pile up quickly. We don’t have family nearby, so finding reliable help is essential for keeping everything organized and running smoothly.
We value efficiency and dependability, but we also believe in a flexible, low-stress home environment where we can focus on our kids and not worry about the “little things” that can pile up. Adaptability, autonomy, and a calm presence are crucial as we balance work, family, and our growing needs.
Who We're Looking For
We’re looking for a house manager who excels behind the scenes, taking care of the household’s day-to-day operations with minimal input. Ideally, you’ll operate independently and efficiently as a true partner who can help make our home life more efficient, organized, and peaceful. If you’re a capable self-starter, someone who sees what needs to be done and takes action without requiring constant direction, we’d love to meet you.
Our ideal candidate is:
Proactive and Self-Sufficient: You assess what needs doing and take care of it without needing to be asked. You’re comfortable making decisions on your own, especially when one or both of us is traveling.
Systems-Minded (But Flexible): You can establish simple, effective systems for managing household tasks—things like organizing, laundry, grocery shopping, and errands. But flexibility is key because family schedules change, and we need you to roll with the punches.
Calm Under Pressure: With our travel schedules and young kids, things can get chaotic. You excel at keeping calm and carrying on, juggling multiple priorities, and responding to changes in the plan quickly and effectively.
Independent but Communicative: You’ll be working independently, often without direct supervision, but we expect someone who can keep us in the loop with quick updates as needed.
Trustworthy and Reliable: You can be depended on to handle household responsibilities without reminders and navigate situations with discretion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Household Management & Organization:
Create and maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure home is prepped for cleaning services (cleaners come bi-weekly)
Help to coordinate household schedules and calendars
Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding, etc.)
Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs and pick ups
Supervise or coordinate with service providers/vendors (e.g., handymen, cleaners, landscapers)
Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas
Inventory Management & Errands:
Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies
Create and manage running household supply lists
Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.), including helping put deliveries away
Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping, pharmacy, etc.
Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries
Meal Planning & Preparation:
Help prepare basic components for weekly dinners (brown meat, chop veggies, etc.)
Wash and cut up fruit and veggies weekly for healthy snacks
Batch-cook occasional snacks (muffins, etc.)
Shop for groceries and meal-related items based on our weekly list
Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness
Laundry & Linen Care:
Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels)
Manage linens: rotate bedding & refresh towels weekly, restock essentials
Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies
Handle special care for delicates or uniforms
Pet Care:
Prepare a hot meal twice per day (chicken thighs, turkey, etc.)
Feed and walk dog
Administer medications, if required
Keep pet supplies stocked and organized
Wash dog beds and blankets monthly
Family Support & Child Assistance:
Occasionally assist with daycare pick-ups/drop-offs, if parents’ travel schedules overlap
Open to providing occasional back-up childcare or watching kids for a date night
Help with child-related laundry or errands
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects:
Tackle occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, washing machine, baseboards, etc.)
Maintain and refresh specific zones (entryways, garage, mudroom)
Organize special projects: toy storage, seasonal decorations, gear rotation
Schedule and complete monthly tasks, such as sterilizing baby items, washing dog beds, etc.
Coordinate with window cleaners to clean hard-to-reach windows
