condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Ampeg
model name / number: SVT-CL
For sale: 1994 Ampeg SVT-CL 300 watt all tube bass head, in excellent overall condition and good working order.

I bought this amp used in 1997 and it was my primary gigging amp for the next 10 years. As you can see from the pictures, I changed the grill cloth out for a vintage-style Ampeg cloth purchased from fliptops.net. I no longer have the original black cloth but I do have the original Ampeg logo plate, which is included in the sale.

This amp is from the first year of the SVT Classic and was made in the USA by St. Louis Music (then the owner of Ampeg). These early USA-made reissues are higher quality and more sought after than the later models that were made in Asia.

Cosmetically it is in excellent overall condition, with a few tears in the tolex from handling, but nothing major. I've replaced a few parts that got lost or damaged over the years (knobs, one of the "feet", and one of the pots) but as far as I know there have not been any modifications to the circuit. The fan is noisy when the amp is first powered up, but it quiets down after a few minutes (it's done this ever since I bought it 27 years ago).

The power tubes are a matched set of Sovtek 6550s that were installed by Terrence Slemmons when the amp was last serviced in 2011. It has had little use since then, and has lived in my smoke-free home studio.

I just fired the amp up and it sounds great with no issues. It brings the thunder as these do!

I'm also including a very nice road case with roller wheels and an extension handle that is also in good condition.

Asking $1,000 cash or zelle, and you must pick the amp up in East Dallas (75218).
