Internet tells me this US made gloss black Ovation Custom Balladeer model 1155 was produced sometime from 1982-1984. The serial number is missing from the inside of the guitar....So can't pinpoint it any closer than that. Sitka spruce top, 5 piece neck, ebony fretboard, under saddle piezo pickup. It plays and sounds great with or without an amplifier. It's certainly not a 10 cosmetically, having a number of finish cracks which are challenging to portray in a photo. The one tiny and very narrow in width wood crack running from sound hole to bridge has been repaired (glued and cleated). Minor crack on headstock near tuner has been glued as well. Original hard shell case is not much to look at, but it has successfully protected its precious cargo for last 45 years , and the latches and handle are still functional. Examples of this model are difficult to find on internet...possibly because they were made for such a short period of time. The closest similar model is the model 1755 which is almost identical except for a compensated saddle and more complex electronics. Reverb website shows the 1755 model has typically sold for $800 up. I've priced this guitar lower to take into account the cosmetic condition of both guitar and case. Guitar has newly installed D'Addario strings.
