I have been an active Realtor for more than 50 years! It's true! And I've been thinking, we senior citizens have to be close with their money. It's just how it is. So it especially makes no sense for us to be spending money that we don't have to.
So I am now listing Dallas, Garland, Richardson....yes, even the Park Cities ... homes on a reduced commission. Here's how to calculate yours: What you think your house will sell for X 3% + $3,000 = Total Commission.
So here's an example based on a home that sells for $400,000.
$400,000 x .03 + $3,000 = $15,000 Total Commission You'll Pay
Here's what most others charge: $400,000 x .06 = $24,000.00
So your savings in this example would be a WOPPING $9,000.00!!!
Here's another one. Say your home is in Highland Park and you
expect it will sell for $4 Million:
$4,000,000 x .03 + $3,000 = $123,000.00 Total Commission You'll Pay
Here's what most others charge: $4,000,000 X.06= $240,000
So your savings in this example would be a WOOPING $117,000.00!!!
You sacrifice nothing! I promise. And neither does the agent who sells your house!
