This Roland W30 is in excellent condition and looks like it was rarely used. The LCD screen still works, but the backlight is not working and there is a hum due to this from the inverter. These are both very common issues with Roland models from this era. The backlight can be replaced, but with the whine from the inverter, it's best to replace the screen with a LED screen which eliminates the need for the inverter. All keys, buttons, functions work perfectly. The disk drive works perfectly and comes with the system and data disks. Please do your own research to make sure this is the keyboard that you want and need. There are numerous videos on Youtube work checking out to see, hear and learn more about this workstation and all of its functions. There are also many videos about how to replace the LCD with a LED and other upgrades. With all of the modern upgrades available, the W30 has become very desirable. From a smoke free home. Sold as is and as described.
Specs:
The Roland W-30, released in 1989, is a classic all-in-one music workstation featuring a 61-key keyboard, an 8-part multitimbral, 16-note polyphonic sampler, and a 16-track sequencer, essentially combining Roland's S-550 sampler and MRC sequencer. Known for its ability to capture and play back 12-bit samples through a 16-bit DAC for a distinctive, gritty sound, it uses 3.5-inch floppy disks for storage and offers full MIDI, making it a foundational tool for early 90s techno and electronic music production.
