This time of year I am short on work so I can give you a big discount now.
Mowing and mulching also takes less time when dry, saving you even more.
When things green up again it takes longer, costs more, and scheduling may be full.
I am looking for regular tractor mowing customers for the next season's scheduling.
24 years tractor mowing, 5 years of forestry mulching. I mulch properly so I can maintain the area with tractor mowing after mulching.
Tractor Mowing
I can tractor mow ( shred shredding ) your lot, field, retention pond, creek or wooded area for as little as $40 an acre depending on size and difficulty.
I have mowed for Fort Worth and Arlington code for years, so when those cities had anything tough to tractor mow, I got called.
Price is determined by tractor hour so the easier your field the cheaper your price will be. And yes I will get off my seat and trim (weedeat) if needed , may or may not be extra.
Any size job, big or small, $100 minimum for tractor mowing ( others are $150+ min ).
May or may not be a trip charge depending on distance from the point on the map shown above, and the size of your lot.
Fire danger is always high, and I can give you a better price while dry.
Repeat mows will be less $ ( I have a 9 acre spot I mow a few times a year that was $360 for this last mow, that's $40 an acre for a repeat customer that was 3 to 4 feet tall when I mowed )
I am not afraid of those once a year mows even if the weeds are 10' tall and trees have begun to grow in (look at pics above). When it is dry is the time for once a year mows. I mow creeks and retention ponds on a regular basis, so I can probably handle whatever you have.
The mowing pics of the retention pond show a job that turned out to be $72 an acre by the tractor hour ( This is about the average price of my mows ). Notice the trees growing in are cut down and I mowed very close by the drains at this retention pond. Other pics show 2 houses that were not visible behind the overgrowth (no trimmer was used to get this close on either job, I am just that good with the tractor). This was included in the tractor hour price for mowing. If I can get to it, I will mow it. Tractor hour price is fair for everyone, including you. If you have 10 acres but only 8 acres is accessible to mow why should you be charged for mowing 10? Mowing by the hour is fair for all, especially you.
Over half of the other guys won't even mow a creek, retention pond, wooded area or anything with rocks, for any price. Anyone can do "pasture mowing" if they have a tractor, my pasture mowing is usually $40-$50 an acre if not overgrown. (see the 9 acre referral above)
Forestry Mulching with skid steer attachment
Consider these things for your overall cost : number, thickness, species and alive or dead trees.
Consider this for overall value and quality : the end result of tree/brush mulching should be ground level cuts with leftover pieces small enough to tractor mow over in the future.
I have a skid steer forestry mulcher. My equipment can grind trees up to an eight inch including the stump within 2 to 25 minutes, (mesquite trees are half the time of most other species), no haul off or burning to do, and you can just tractor mow over the area after mulching to maintain.
My minimum for forestry mulching is only $400, others are $2000 a day minimum to start. My prices are by the hour not the day. A day is 8 hours, if you don't have that much work why should you pay for 8 hours?
With my low minimum and hourly charge those of you out there that have just a few trees, a fence line, a deer stand hunting lane, a house pad, or an entrance to get your mobile home into that needs clearing can now get them mulched up affordably.
Whether trees are dead or have fallen or in a burn pile (with no metal or bricks) I can mulch them up for you.
Dead trees cost you less because they mulch up easier and faster. (Please leave anything standing that is standing, it is easier to mulch and therefore cheaper for you. Do not pull up roots or full trees (unless you are developing), let the mulcher grind them while standing (root ball removal is very expensive for you.)
Traditional tree removal services charge by the tree for removal, charges by any tree mulching service including mine should be a fraction of any "cut and haul away" tree company that may or may not grind the stumps while they are there.
These mulching machines are actually the same as a stump grinder only larger with more power, and can do stump grinding to the whole tree while still standing.
If you look at the last 4 pics I have posted here, there were 15 "groups" of trees (over 100 total trees) of varying species that I mulched up for a cost of $680. That is less than $7 per tree or $45 per tree "group" total. There were around 40 trees between 3" and 6", with nothing over 6" but stumped together sometimes making a foot being ground at the same time, hundreds of trees smaller than 3" that were mulched up in minutes or even seconds.
There may be ordinances to consider depending on where your trees and brush are located.
No tree mulching equipment can safely squeeze into a back yard of a closely built development, call a traditional cut and haul away tree removal service.
Larger trees than 8" can be mulched, but may have other/better uses. Most mulching companies have the 8" diameter tree capacity much like my equipment. There are only a handful of mulching companies that can handle larger trees efficiently, and of course they charge enough to pay for their extra equipment, so make sure you understand what you are getting.
Call more than one mulching company, keeping in mind no one says they are the second best. Check the "considerations" above before making your decision.
My skid steer mulcher is able to clear trees up to 8", thick brush, etc.
Mulching machines can also do tree trimming but the end result won't be nearly as pretty as a chainsaw cut, but can mulch up small cut limbs laid on the ground from trimming.
Some cities have passed ordinances that require the removal of thick brush between trees or growth. Objective is to give a visual to minimize homeless camps. I am here to help you comply with tractor mowing and/or with the forestry mulcher.
Clearing also gives your potential buyers a full visual of your property. Mulching pics show my clearing ability during the mulching process.
If the environment is part of your consideration, tree and brush mulching returns the carbons back to the soil and ecology. A burn pile "releases" the carbons into the environment when burnt, and the fire spreading risk is your responsibility, so don't burn that pile mulch it.
So call me if you have brush/tree clearing issues.
Summary
I have been mowing for 24 years professionally, been on a tractor all my life. My skid steer forestry mulching experience is 5 years.
I guarantee you my job is not done until you are thrilled with my tractor mowing and/or mulching and price. And yes, I am insured.
Those other guys want you to think they do a better job because they charge more, just look at the pics and compare, a tractor mow doesn't get much better or closer than the retention pond shown in the pics.
My mulching pics show I leave small enough pieces that tractor mowing is all that is needed for future clearing.
Most other guys say fair/reasonable/competitive pricing, not sure what that means, I do know I am still the best valued price and best quality there is, I just believe in a fair value for everyone. Anyone with the right equipment can accomplish the results I do , most just don't because they don't have your best interests first.
Those that would benefit most from my best value services, real estate owners or property management companies, commercial buildings like warehouses and HOA's that have rough stuff or large areas, landscaping companies ( I do work for dozens ).
If you want me to clean up your field, lot, creek, retention pond or wooded area including standing trees or limb or burn piles call me at (817)657-1075, thank you.
Unfortunately, the abundance of scams and spams means the protocol below should to be followed to protect us all.
This is a bad side effect of technology.
If you call and I don't answer leave a voicemail. Anyone who calls from an unknown number and doesn't leave a voicemail about the business they called about will be blocked a short time later because I will assume it is a spam call, so leave a message if you want a mow or mulch. I must speak with a live person, no deal will be made electronically.
If you text, state immediately you want a mow or mulch. I will call back your number and speak with a live person. No deal will be made electronically. I will not open your text until I speak with a live person.
No emails until I know you. All unknown emails will be immediately deleted and blocked without opening them to avoid viruses.
For first time customers cash will be required for mowing or mulching, regardless of size, this part can be negotiated on a phone conversation or in person.
There will be discounts for repeat mows, and future payment methods can be discussed. (mulching should not require repeats, if cleared properly tractor mowing is all that is needed to keep it maintained)
