esh Start Needed: Escaping Domestic Violence & Managing Disability
I am reaching out to my community because I am currently in a desperate situation and don't know where else to turn.
Recently, I had to escape a severely abusive marriage. My husband is currently in jail for what he did to me, but in the aftermath, I have been left with nothing. We owned a company together that I simply cannot run on my own, leaving me with no income, a overdrawn bank account, and a mountain of bills he left behind.
My Current Situation:
Health: I live with CIDP, a physical disability that currently prevents me from working or doing heavy labor.
Housing: I am currently homeless. My only "home" right now is my truck, which I am still struggling to make payments on.
Family: It is just me and my small, well-behaved dog.
I am looking for help with anything and everything. Whether it’s assistance with finances to keep my truck, help finding a safe place to park or stay, or guidance on local resources for disabled survivors of domestic violence, I would be eternally grateful.
I am a fighter, but between my health and these circumstances, I cannot do this alone. If you have any leads on emergency housing, financial assistance, or even just basic necessities, please reach out.
