About the Artist:

Born and raised in New Mexico, Bob Boyd was inspired by the vast desert landscapes, extravagant cloud formations, and rich culture of the people native to the land. After attending art school in Tennessee, he pursued his career as a commercial artist in New York City, and contributed to the success of several major advertising campaigns of that time as the graphic designer. To meet the needs of his growing family, Bob eventually moved back to his hometown of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and went to work for his family’s business, also serving two terms as mayor. In 1971, after raising his family, he and his wife moved to Santa Fe, where he worked in economic development for the State of New Mexico, and was eventually able to retire and do what he loved to do – recreate the magic of the northern New Mexico landscapes and Native American heritage on canvas.

Under the business name of Santa Fe Serigraphics, his work was displayed in galleries and cities across the United States. Bob passed away in 2002, but today, there are two collections of vintage serigraphs offered for sale. All were created sometime between the 1970s and 1990s. The smaller 10x13” prints depict Native American fetishes and southwestern landscapes and landmarks. This collection was printed onto center cutouts of mat boards. Instead of disposing of the normally unused centers, he used them as a canvas to print more of his work! The second collection, the larger and more elaborate works were printed on art paper. The majority of these pieces are numbered, signed, and given titles that tell us about the images and people he depicted.

It brings our family great joy to re-introduce Bob Boyd’s art to the public after many years in storage. It is our hope that his work will be shared and hung in spaces where it will be admired and cherished by others as much as our family has for several generations. Thank you for your support. Enjoy!
