McIntosh XR3 Isoplanar Radiator Loudspeaker System (Pair)
These are great sounding high-end speakers!
4-way floor system with 10" woofer, 5" lower mid, 1-1/2" dome upper mid and two 2-5/8" angled tweeters. Walnut finish with clear vinyl laminate. Replaceable top and base. Hinged grille. Black grille cloth.
Plug-in printed circuit crossover board. Crossover cover at the top front has block diagram plus main and tweeter fuses. Red and yellow indicator lights at the bottom right. Red light indicates tweeter fuse blown. Yellow light indicates maximum power level.
Crossover frequencies: 700Hz, 1.4kHz and 7kHz
Impedance: 8 ohms
Output: 89dB @1w/1m

Sold from: 1976 to 1981
The foam surround had deteriorated on the woofers and was replaced in 1998. The repair included new surround, voice coil and cone. It was replaced as an assembly, an upgrade from McIntosh. The work was done by Speaker Repair Service in Fort Worth. They were a McIntosh factory authorized servicer. No, those are not Cerwin Vega drivers, lol.
Also, a high frequency mid was replaced in 1998, a direct replacement from McIntosh.
There is some minor water damage on the replacable (repairable?) base of one of the speakers, a cosmetic issue.
