Hard rock maple is very strong. You cannot drive a nail into it. It is harder than oak
The finish is overall very good but there are slight signs of wear. They are about 60 to 70 years old and should last another 60 years. The stretcher at the bottom give chairs added strength. The arms make them easy to lift and push yourself out of them.
Seat height 18 inches
overall width 24 inches
overall depth 17
top of arm 27.5
total height 30.5
top of arm is 27 1/2 inches. If you need more room under your table, you could shorten the legs on the chairs or add height to the legs of your table.
On Etsy these are being offered. 2 chairs are $850. So obviously these are worth a lot more than I am asking. Chairs at big box that are flimsy and will only last a short time are more than $140 each
