Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all product movement, delivery scheduling, and order fulfillment. This role ensures that all materials—bulk salt, treated salt, brine, and bagged products—are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on time.
This is a critical role in daily operations and storm response, requiring strong organization, communication, decision-making skills, and solid computer proficiency to manage systems, tracking, and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Dispatch Management
Schedule and coordinate all deliveries (bulk, tote, and bagged products)
Manage drivers, routes, and delivery timelines
Optimize routing for efficiency and cost control
Communicate delivery updates and changes to customers

Order Fulfillment Coordination
Review and process incoming orders from sales, customers, and app system
Assign fulfillment method (pickup or delivery)
Ensure all orders are staged and ready for execution

Yard & Load Coordination
Work closely with Production Supervisor and yard team
Coordinate loading of trucks and preparation of totes
Ensure proper staging of materials for pickups and deliveries

Inventory Management
Monitor inventory levels for:
Bulk salt
Treated salt
Brine tanks
Tote inventory
Coordinate replenishment with purchasing and production teams

Storm Operations (Critical Function)
Manage logistics during storm events and high-demand periods
Prioritize deliveries and high-value customers
Coordinate extended hours and emergency scheduling
Monitor real-time inventory usage and availability

Operational Support & Coordination
Provide direct support to the Operations Manager (Rachel) in daily operational execution
Assist in coordinating workflows across logistics, production, and yard operations
Support implementation of operational processes and improvements
Help ensure alignment between scheduling, inventory, and production activities

Customer Communication
Provide delivery confirmations and ETAs
Handle urgent and time-sensitive requests
Support contractor and municipal clients with logistics needs

System & App Coordination
Monitor incoming orders through company systems/app
Manage pickup check-ins and yard notifications
Update order status and availability as needed

Maintain accurate records of:
Delivery tickets
Load tickets
Order status
Coordinate with accounting for invoicing and recordkeeping

Qualifications
Experience in logistics, dispatch, or operations management (preferred)
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to work in fast-paced and high-pressure environments
Excellent communication skills
Problem-solving mindset
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (tracking, basic reporting, data organization)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word (documentation, communication)
Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting/invoicing systems (preferred)
Ability to learn and manage logistics software, dispatch systems, or internal apps
Familiarity with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive) is a plus
Comfortable using email, mobile apps, and digital scheduling tools
Strong attention to detail when entering and managing data
