This engine has a forged steel crankshaft, dimple rods with 7/16ths or ARP rod bolts, hydraulic lifters, 9 1/2 to 1 compression forged pistons, Speed Pro low tension moly piston rings, four bolt mains, remanufactured rectangular port heads with oversized stainless steel valves, performance valve springs, Viton PC seals, hardened keepers, and high strength retainers.
Although this engine has better than automotive brass freeze plugs, drain taps and Fel-Pro stainless laminated Performance/Marine head gaskets and marine paint, for marine use, it is also available with a choice of three different camshafts for auto, truck and RV/motor home use depending on your application.

This fully assembled Chevrolet remanufactured long block is superior to
a simply rebuilt engine, which may have used parts installed. Our straight 6
GM 250 has a new camshaft, new valves, new chain set, new bearings,
new seals, new freeze plugs and comes with a complete gasket kit and
a new oil pump.

These 540 engines have rectangle port cylinder heads with stainless steel valves, roller rockers, performance cam and lifters, SCAT steel crankshaft and forged connecting rods, forged pistons, Speed Pro Moly piston rings, Federal Mogul main and rod bearings, Melling oil pump and double roller timing chain set. The block has @ 4.5" bore X 4.25" stroke. This engine has upgrade brass freeze plugs, drain taps and Fel-Pro stainless laminated Performance/Marine head gaskets.

3.0 L 181 c.i.d MARINE Premium Remanufactured Longblock Engine.
Replaces Mercruiser, Volvo-Penta, OMC, Hardin, Cobra, Crusader, Marine Power, Chevy, GMC, Thermo-electron, Flagship, Yamaha, Pleasurecraft and other inboard engines.
1974-1989 3.0 L $1,890 Longblock + $500 Core Deposit
This engine has become exceedingly rare as they haven't been made since 1989, and a good percent of them get freeze cracked every year. For identification, this engine has a two piece rear seal, the two starter bolts are parallel to the 153 tooth flywheel, and the cylinder head has either the tall port or Siamesed port. We have engines available that match cylinder head configurations illustrated in the first, second and third images in the picture above.
Please be aware that if you purchase a newer 3.0 Liter engine for this application you will need to buy a $200 flywheel, $150 starter, $200 coupler and $300 manifold in order to convert the newer engine to your application. You may be able to get it to work with the existing manifold, but expect a 20 HP power loss. This engine is an exact replacement for the 1989 and earlier applications.
1990 & Newer 3.0 L $1,890 Longblock + $800 Core Deposit
For identification, this engine has a one piece rear seal, diagonal starter bolt holes for the 168 tooth flywheel, and the tall port cylinder head.
THE 3.0 L ENGINE IS ALSO AVAILABLE FOR INDUSTRIAL/FARM/OTHER EQUIPMENT.
Although these engines have the superior brass freeze plugs, drain taps and Fel-Pro stainless laminated Performance/Marine head gaskets for marine use that are better quality than car or truck versions, these engines are also available with a choice of three different camshafts for forklift, generator and industrial applications, usually at no extra cost.
1962-1986 2.5 L $1,690 Longblock + $500 Core Deposit
For identification, this engine has a two piece rear seal and the cylinder head has either the tall port or Siamesed port. These engines are available for marine, auto, truck and industrial applications.
MACHINING, ASSEMBLY and TESTING OPERATIONS
The block, crank, rods and head are chemically cleaned in a sodium hydroxide jet stripper and Magnafluxed. Typically, cylinders are bored over and chamfered with two-stage plateau honing on the cylinder walls using Sunnen Honing Equipment, heads surfaced, valves refaced or replaced w' guides or liners, never knurled, connecting rods are checked for alignment and cracks, re-sized, and shot-blasted. Crankshaft is Magnafluxed, chem-stripped, re-machined and micro-polished. We fit new statically balanced pistons with Sealed Power piston rings and SS-50 stainless steel oil control rings plus new wrist pins. Bottom end is align-honed if necessary. The engine typically comes with a Melling oil pump, Federal Mogul main and rod bearings, Dura-Bond cam bearings, new marine cam shaft, matching timing gear set, hydraulic lifters, push rods, rocker arm assemblies, Fel-Pro Marine Gasket Set, brass freeze plugs and drain taps, and marine alkyd enamel paint.
ALL engines are hot run-tested at 180F on a SIM Tester at speed allowing us to check compression, test cylinder leak down, pump up the lifters, break in the piston rings, view oil flow and oil pressure to each bearing in the engine, impregnate the internal surfaces with zinc break-in additive, verify valve timing and measure each cylinder's piston ring drag on the cylinder walls.
Engines are heavy bagged with anti-corrosion paper, cradled and protected prior to crating.
