condition: good
media type: other audio

I recently acquired a huge collection of vintage records, including a total of 1,563 78-RPM records. These date primarily from the 1940s, but there are some from the 1930s and 1950s, too. These 78s were likely part of the music library of an old radio station: 925 are standard, retail releases from major record companies (and many rare and/or unfamiliar labels) of the time, and 638 are marked "Promotional/DJ Copy - Not for sale."

There are too many records to list, but I've included the names of some of the artists I recognize, and included pictures of some select titles. There are TONS of artists I'm not familiar with, and there are likely to be some real gems in there, hours of music from a bygone era that otherwise might be lost to history.

I have priced these records at "yard-sale" prices: I'm asking $200 for the entire collection - that's about 15¢ each for the retail releases, about 10¢ each for the promotional records!

HOWEVER, at these prices, you must buy the entire collection; NO PICKING. You must arrange for pickup and/or delivery, but the entire collection should fit easily in a pickup or medium sized SUV.

Selected artists on the 78-RPMs include:

Big Bands:
Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Harry James, Lionel Hampton, Woody Herman, Cab Calloway, Glenn Miller, Jimmie Lunceford, Stan Kenton, Claude Thornhill, Sammy Kaye, Glenn Gray, Bob Crosby, Wayne King, Ted Weems, Guy Lombardo, Lawrence Welk, Tiny Hill, Pee Wee Hunt, and more

Singers:
Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Hoagy Carmichael, Johnny Mercer, Doris Day, Jo Stafford, Kitty Kallen, Margaret Whiting, Vaughn Monroe, Dick Haymes, Betty Hutton, Georgia Gibbs, Anita Ellis, Eddy Howard, Nelson Eddy, Frankie Laine, Eddie Fisher, Dinah Shore, Patti Page, Les Paul & Mary Ford, Vic Damone, Perry Como, Spike Jones, Johnny Desmond and many more

Vocal ensembles:
The Ames Brothers, The Chordettes, The Stardusters, The Pied Pipers, The Mills Brothers, The Hilltoppers, The Gaylords, The Fontane Sisters, The Four Aces, The Four Knights, and more

There's a lot of stuff to interest any old record collector or music enthusiast in this huge lot. Contact me with any questions!
