This Marine Bong Son zippo lighter belonged to someone with the famed 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment knowned as the Black Horse Regiment that was in Nam from September 1966 to March 1972. It was bought to my attention by a Marine who fought there at that time. Some Marines were stationed with the 11th Calvary and that the lighter is Marine on the bottom and Army on top. It was under the direction of George S Patton, the Son of the world famous George S Patton Jr. According to fixbayonets.us, they were The Best Damn Regiment that you will ever see. I had it soaked in 10w40 for weeks in order to get it presentable.
