Up for sale is a well-maintained Classé CAV-180, a legendary 5-channel high-end amplifier known for its clean, dynamic sound and exceptional build quality. Despite its age, this unit is in excellent cosmetic and working condition — a true testament to Classé's engineering.
Specs:
Power Output: 180W x 5 into 8Ω / 360W into 4Ω
Inputs: Balanced (XLR) & Single-ended (RCA)
Build Quality: Made in Canada with a robust chassis and premium components
Usage & History:
I originally owned two of these amps, primarily used to drive my B&W SCM1 surround speakers in a dedicated home theater setup. One of the units was taken by my friend who is currently using it to effortlessly power a full B&W setup — including 802D, HTM3S, and SCM1s — with excellent results.
This amp has always been kept in a clean, temperature-controlled environment and has never had any performance issues. It's ready to bring high-current, audiophile-grade power to your system.
Why Sell?
Consolidated into a single 8-channel amplifier to simplify the realestate on my setup. Otherwise, this would be a keeper.
