The Domain Managing Architect provides stregic architectural leadership across the Digital domains. This role leverages enterprise architecture disciplines, frameworks, and tools to ensure th technology solutions align with the long-term best interests of Horace Mann.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain current, future, and transitional ste architectures.
• Cree conceptual, logical, and physical architecture models and diagrams.
• Formule and review high-level design documents.
• Define, document, and govern architectural decisions across programs and projects.
• Develop and enforce architecture policies, standards, and processes in partnership with the Chief Architect and CIO.
• Identify and establish new enterprise building blocks and reusable architectural pterns.
• Establish AI governance frameworks including model risk management, explainability, fairness, and compliance.
• Lead and approve Enterprise Architecture Assessments. including AI-enabled and cloud migrion solutions.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise standards, security, da, privacy, and responsible AI expections.
• Provide best-practice guidance in evaluing and selecting vendor products and technology plforms.
• Partners with Solution Delivery teams, architects, and technical leads to maintain current, target, and transition architectures.
• Facilite consensus across diverse technical and business teams.
• Lead modernizion efforts including legacy rionalizion, decommissioning, and adoption of cloud-nive and AI-ready plforms.
• Communice complex technical concepts clearly to executive and non-technical audiences.
• Identify and mitige architecture risks, and technical debt.
Required Qualificions
• 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in architecture leadership roles
• Proven experience leading cloud transformion and legacy modernizion programs enterprise scale
• Exceptional communicion and leadership skills in both technical and business contexts
• Brings broad cross-domain knowledge spanning enterprise and solution architecture, da plforms, integrion, infrastructure, networking, and security to design scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise solutions.
• Experience working within an Enterprise Architecture framework (e.g., TOGAF).
• Fluency in modern architecture practices, including cloud-nive, microservices, event-driven, and AI-enabled architectures.
• Proven experience leading legacy modernizion and enterprise cloud transformion initiives across complex technology landscapes.
• Ability to define and govern enterprise architecture standards, pterns, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps aligned with business stregy.
• Expertise in creing architecture artifacts and diagrams (e.g., Visio, draw.io).
• Collabore with business leaders, IT leadership, and engineering organizions to transle stregic objectives into scalable technology solutions.
• Experience in risk management and executive-level presentions.
• Demonstred ability to lead across organizional boundaries and drive consensus.
• Experience with digital transformion
Preferred Qualificions
• Experience in the insurance industry is highly preferred.
• Experience in the Customer, Distribution and Producer/Agent business domains
• Experience implementing AI governance frameworks in reguled environments.
• Exposure to Agentic AI and Generive AI (LLMs, RAG, vector dabases)
• Certificions in cloud plforms (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, AWS SA).
Pay Range:
Salary is commensure to experience, locion, etc.
