This is a NEW / NIB / NOS Evolution 40GX Gas Engine. Never flown. I bought this years ago for a special twin project which fizzled. Originally this engine sold for $500 plus tax (found a reference in RC Universe dated back to August 20, 2011). Also found an old out-of-date ad from A-Main Hobbies who sold it for $450 (see photo). This engine originally did not come with either a muffler or engine mount. It was an extra cost. Stored in 'smoke-free environment".
Also included is a NOS-NIB Evolution Muffler that fits either the 35cc or 40GX engine. These listed for $100 plus tax. Both of the items (engine & muffler) when new sold for about $650 out the door (using the original engine price). (FYI: I have two identical engines and am using some of the photos in both ads.)
NOTE 1: Even though this engine is NIB it may require a carb kit replacement because it's been sitting idle for some time. parts are available from hobby stores, the manufacturer, eBay, etc.

This is the Evolution 40GX 2-Stroke Gas Engine. If you enjoy flying large 1.80- to 2.20- sized sport and scale airplanes, Evolution’s 40GX is the perfect powerhouse. This purpose-built engine brings the clean and economical operation of gas to any 1.80- or 2.20-size sport or scale airplane. The 40cc gas engine includes an advanced ignition system is suitable for use with 2-cell Li-Po packs. It is very efficient, so extended run time can be expected and features an innovative spring-loaded choke design for easier operation.
The Evolution 40GX is part of Evolution’s outstanding line of gasoline power plants. Every Evolution engine is purpose-built for model airplanes. Superior porting technology, Walbro carburetors, ball bearing-supported crankshafts and modern electronic ignition systems are all hallmarks of the line.
