These Lövbacken side tables are a great 1950s design side table / coffee table.
It is an IKEA updated version of the famous Mid-Century Lövet table.
The LÖVBACKEN (previously LÖVET) side table is set to be worth thousands in the future. The table could pull in up to $7775 in the future, according to experts. The stylish table features a distinctive grain pattern and gold ends to the legs
Originally launched in 1953, Ikea's first flat-pack product the LÖVBACKEN table is a wonderful little table with a fantastic heritage, created by one of Sweden's most successful designers, Gillis Lundgren.
'Selling for thousands at some of Sweden's leading auction houses, the LÖVBACKEN has become a collectible for the most discerning of furniture experts
And while Ikea's LÖVBACKEN (previously LÖVET) may look like any other side table, this three-legged wooden design was first released back in the 1950s and is now part of the Ikea 'Re-imagined Classics' collection.
According to Swedish auction site Barnebys, it 'wouldn't be surprising' if the basic table sold for anything between $1755 and $3159 by 2030 - by 2040, it could be between $6265 - $7775
The table is significant because it was the item that was said to give birth to the flatpack furniture revolution when it was released in the 1950s
If you manage to find the original, you have a side table that is worth more than $1200.
Experts from the Swedish auction house Barnebys have already declared this updated version of the table a future classic.
This model is made of wood and a veneer top with a characteristic pattern which is very unlike the usual leaf pattern that you see on the Lövbacken side table. If features a gorgeous Parquetry top veneer wood design, very un-common to the typical Leaf veneer top.
The tables were made in 1999, possibly
a limited edition version produced in that year.

There are surface scratches and scuffs on the top from use, some of the brass knobs on the legs are missing. Otherwise, they look great, are sturdy and very stylish.
