This really handsome and well-built bull calf is 6 months old. He is very good looking, very beefy and all black.
The calf is out of a large-bodied Aberdeen Angus cow (a "miniature" Angus, also called a Lowline Angus). I would guess her weight at about 900 lbs. He was likely sired by my Miniature Belted Galloway bull, but perhaps by my Miniature Hereford bull. His appearance is that of an Angus.
This little bull is very chunky. Based upon what I'm seeing so far, I expect that he will be an excellent beef producer.
He just came off his mama on 11/8 and is currently frightened of humans.
If you're not familiar with the Aberdeen Angus, it is simply a selectively bred Angus. Aberdeens do not carry any kind of dwarf jean - they are just smaller than standard. Large or small, Angus beef is Angus beef. The same situation applies to Miniature Belted Galloways in that they are simply bred-down Galloways, with the belt being a color variation. The Galloway is one of the oldest of cattle breeds, originating in Scotland just like the Angus. Galloways are known for being hardy and producing excellent quality beef.
Price is cash and carry. I do not normally deliver, but if you're very close to me - within 20 miles - I can deliver for an additional $100.
