Imagine a few years from now, a time of crisis, uncertainty and low food supply. Yet you have a self-renewing, edible garden in the sky that you bought for only $25. I'm talking about a tree that produces not only great fruit but also has the benefit of edible and highly nutritious leaves 8 months of the year. To top it all off, few people recognized it to even be edible at all. Of course, I'm talking about the Mulberry tree.
We have both black and red trees in stock, they stand about 2-3 feet tall and are in 3 gallon pots. I love that these trees are so easy to care for and grow super fast. In fact, if cut down they generally come back from the root. They do equally well in both full sun and partial sun- I've even planted them in almost all shade under a huge oak tree and they did remarkably well with huge leaves. In my opinion, the leaves themselves taste similar to collard greens being cooked likewise with onion and garlic- some people make a green tea. I'd say they'll do over half their growing in the springtime. So it's important to get them in the ground now so they'll be fully rooted and ready to shoot up to the moon in the spring- you'll love them!
Note: We grow them in downtown Mansfield and here almost every morning or if you only want a couple I can pick out your order and leave it on the front porch for easy pick up? We also work in Alvarado if that's any closer for you, or can offer FREE delivery to Ft Worth once every three months (end of Oct) or once a month to Arlington(Oct 16th) when my wife has a doctor appointment.
